“Let us perform his will. Let us hate with his hate”?
That’s beautiful writing, there. It creates a depth to this setting that’s rare in any medium, and sets the tone perfectly for… well… wherever this is going. Can’t wait to see!
I kinda want to know what they consider a treat… and why they thought that sort of offer would work on a person like Frigg. Silly nuns. Even if Frigg wanted it she’d tell ya where to shove it.
2nd panel very much reminds me of Orthodox iconography with its positioning of the hand and fingers, check it out: http://www.orthodoxphotos.com/graphics/icon.jpg
It’s not quite the same thing but I’d say there’s a definite reference here. And let’s not forget “Oh snap!”, there’s like layers of meaning in that panel.
I like how nunchalant the sisters are about all this. :P I love their facial expressions as well.
The best are the paintings of baby jesus holding his hands like that. There are some great ones in the cloisters in New York. I highly recommend a trip there.
God made nuns to be pun prone. It’s how he amuses himself. :)
I think I’ll go and read again my 1st issue of Conun the Barbarinun.
ps: Sorry about the nonsense below, had some log-in weirdness happen. This site behaves a little strangely sometimes, especially in regard to posting functionality.
so… I’m the only one who’s favorite character was major douche payest best eh?
well he kicks so much ass he could probably clear out this dungeon though that would not follow the future we viewed with the sky elves =/. Oh well, I always loved playing bards and battle axe guitar is just so cool.
On another note. Just finally caught up with this comic and so now I can post things. thrilling eh? I love the character development although I feel that gravedust actually deserves a little more time. His abilities really haven’t had a chance to shine in a while but I’m sure we’ll get to see him back at work eventually.
Okay now, this far I swallowed all my annoyance with the “nuns”; but the tooltip of this one really pissed me off. This far I could kind of pretend that they are not a spiteful generalization of catholic nuns, but no more. Not that I’m catholic, but you are going a tad far with this. I don’t go depicting every atheist/buddhist/whateverist total assholes just because some of them were jerks to me. I know you probably don’t care about some of us deluded religious fanatics being butthurt about your witticism; but oh well, I’m still going to let this angry little opinion bird fly free [/obscure TNH reference]

That asn’t armor making noise it was bones a breakin.
GO FRIGG
Jim
It’s not going to be long before this turns into a complete cloisterfuck, is it?
well played, sir
I can’t believe we went this long without using “cloisterfuck”! We went through all the nun-puns but missed that. It seems so obvious now!
ahdok: you are a genius… at least at nun-punning.
hims quite the PUNisher.
seriously though some of these are quite PUNgent and not all that PUNctual
“We shall have nun of this.”
What god(ess) do these nuns pray to anyway?
…and was that a reference to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind?
“Let us perform his will. Let us hate with his hate”?

Forgive us this day our daily fuckery as we torture your ass into submission or death…yay, verily, yay.
Amen to that.
Think “daily fuckery” is my new favorite phrase.
Isn’t that a newspaper in the UK?
You must be thinking of “The Nun”.
personally i pray to ceiling cat and code monkey.
although with all the doritos, tab, mountain dew, and cheezburgahs
i have to offer, it can get a bit expensive…
Creepy nuns are creepy.
I curse this page for reminding me of that fucking Jim Carrey movie.
At least now we now we know who to blame for that movie… evil nuns.
. . . It was a good film. ¬_¬
Hmm…. if this was a game my friends an I were playing…. and the usual barbarian player was playing Frigg….
Well then Frigg’d be a Barb-Druid and have summoned a badger (named Roger!) to eat the sisters by now….
Too bad for Frigg she’s not multi-classed. >.>
Frigg’s really, really similar to how the Crusader class plays. Given she is a Crusader, that’s pretty cool.
Beware of Nuns
With eyes of Brown
They’ll pray for you then knock you down
Beware of Nuns
With eyes of Blue
They’ll give you the old “One, Two”
Beware of Nuns
With eyes of Green
They are habitually mean
Beware of Nuns
With eyes of Grey
You join the church, you have to stay
Beware of Nuns
With eyes of Black
For confessions, they’ve a knack
Beware of Nuns
With eyes of Red
When they are near, you’ll wish you’re dead
Zzzzzooo, gerlee. Eet appears zat choo veesh to seemplee teeck alongk on your own.
Howefer! Ve haff vays of making you…tock.
You lanced that quote like a bengal.
So, rather than playing good cop bad cop, they’re playing Punch and Judy?
Those background nuns (the Punchers?) in the last panel look manly.
Also, hang in there, Frigg! Show us your status as a meatshield!
Those nuns scare me! The fact that Frigg has any history with them is even more so.
It’s a worrying thought, but I think they’re still going easy on her.
The fact that Frigg has history with these nuns . . . really explains a lot, doesn’t it?
I kinda want to know what they consider a treat… and why they thought that sort of offer would work on a person like Frigg. Silly nuns. Even if Frigg wanted it she’d tell ya where to shove it.
Maybe they just wanted an excuse.
They’re ad-ministering their special treatment to her.
I’m loving the eye symbol in panel 2. If I steal these nuns for a game, that eye is getting magical powers.
They’re going to convince her with punches to the face? Weak.
This is my left hook.
This is my plot hook.
!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nunchalant! Another nun-pun I don’t think was used before. Well said mon capi-tan!

Frigg is very stoic in the face of her Nunishment.
it’d be worse if they were wearing nunckle dusters.
That’d be a Nunderstorm of Pain, there.
Can they not reach a nunderstanding?
Not without a serious new nundertaking.
It appears I nunderestimated how many nun-puns there were.
I wonder if the page breaks if you keep on replying like this?
Over nun-thousand.
How much nuns could a wood-nun nun if a wood-nun could nun nuns?
Damn, should’ve said nun-chuck
Oh and “how many nuns”, not “much”. An edit button, edit button, my kingdom for an edit button.
Nunsense
fdf
Hmmm. Was that joke a bit too… nunderstated?
Nah, just misnunderstood. :P
These are the creepiest nuns I have ever seen outside of satanic hentai. … wait, forget what I just said.
Too late. Linx please.
Dude, it’s the internet: just Google “Nuns”
(unfortunately it is that simple)
I’m talking about satanic hentai though I expect that’s just a google away as well.
Why do I expect this has something to do with Bible Black?
Once again, as an ex-Catholic, this series is provoking special reactions in me. In this case, a regressive episode.
Next D&D game I run, I have to borrow these nuns for a bit.
And the entire religion really. I think I can really creep out my players.
Maybe even worse than the day I had an undead bag of skin attack them.
so… I’m the only one who’s favorite character was major douche payest best eh?

Do they forgive talking at the theater?
