Older styles of corsets actually were more comfortable that what you might find in the fetish/cosplay scene nowadays. They compressed the whole torso into more of a tube shape instead of cinching in. They also generally weren’t laced as tightly as many people wear them now, with some exceptions here or there. And note that Frigg already has the desired hourglass figure.
And yes, it would be more difficult to fight, but it’s 80% restricted movement 20% lung capacity. Besides, she’s not allowed to fight anyway.
I wear a corset every day (I’m wearing it now!), and I can touch my toes, limbo, whatever. It’s certainly no more restrictive than a breastplate. It’s more supportive than anything.
The idea that corsets restrict air flow comes from women who bought them too small and laced them too tight so they could look thinner. I somehow doubt anyone tight-laced Frigg.
Whoa, I just noticed that. And it looks like the authors decided it at the last minute too — methinks there was originally a slightly wider letter where that “T” was.
This is going to end up going back to Gravedust and Bandit then Byron and Syr’nj and we’ll have to wait until next week to see what happens with Frigg. BUT I WANT TO SEE THE OTHER TWO GROUPS TOO.
Damn you stories with split up main characters. Damn youuu. *shakes fist*
I figured the one wasn’t human, due to the pointy ears and the severely receding brow, but I didn’t know they were both gnomes or hobbitses or whatever until panel 4 put them in perspective.
I’m not so sure finger dick is an insult to these guys. I mean if you think about it proportionally… I guess it needs to be clarified whether she’s talking human fingers or gnome fingers.
Somehow I get the feeling that Frigg is more pained by having to resort to diplomacy than wearing that corset. Good possibility both will be dispensed with by the end of the day.
I think they should be ok: they and Frigg know they’re on the same wavelength now, not two labourers and a pompous merchant as they originally thought.
No website yet, but a blog (hawksong.wordpress.com)
Getting there on having actually *good* pictures to post… le sigh, I’m lousy at photography :P My thumb always wants a closeup!
When any character grins mischievously like that, its almost never a bluff. I think they have something in store for Frigg. You just have to hope that they underestimated her so she wins out in the end.
Discussion (66) ¬
There are no words.
I knew a drill sergeant once upon a time who talked a lot like Frigg. It’s not necessarily the words you say, but the delivery that’s important.
Drill Sergeant? Hell i once knew a kindergarden teacher who acted like that, now THAT was something! :D
Oh, this will end GLORIOUSLY.
With epic beatdowns, of course.
that corset looks uncomfortable…good luck fighting without oxygen, frigg.

besides corsets give you good fencing posture, and proper boning is actually pretty decent armour.
Giggity!
No “I’d give her a proper boning” joke? Come on, people. You disappoint.
That’s what she said.
it’s all creepy organ-compression to me.
it really looks like she’s taking that “not allowed to fight” thing seriously…

This isn’t the first corset discussion we’ve had here. I wonder what it means.
Well there are all those contemporary cartoons showing maids using their full weight to tighten the laces.
They could not have picked a WORSE person for this job.
Which means this has got to be entertaining.
Those two are way too happy to be in the same room with a angry Frigg.
They kind of behave like a Frigg with brains instead of brawn.
It’s called “Upset the representative and she’s easier to manipulate.”
Sadly for them, she’ll end up being the one manipulating them. With a piece of the table and the lacings from her bodice.
Nice snood.
And her farthingale is virtually dripping with class.
I can imagine the trouble Frigg must have had memorizing her script. She’s much more entertaining off-the-cuff, though.
Fuck yes is all I can say
Fuck
Yes
There is no chance to survive, make your time.
Wonder what they’re thinking of tricking her into…
Maybe they duck when she punches and she knocks the walls out ten meters?
“Gentlemans” had me laughing for five straight minutes.
the regarding retarding mistake had me giggling.
Whoa, I just noticed that. And it looks like the authors decided it at the last minute too — methinks there was originally a slightly wider letter where that “T” was.
No, that’s just the font. Look at “underst and”, it has the same gap.
agreed completely. Is this Komica?
You’re completely right, of course. Seems like a weird decision on the part of the fontologists, or whatever you call them.
(“Typographer” is for wimps.)
Actually it still makes sense. I mean, presumably their complaint is delaying construction, yes?
What you say!!
Oh no.
Oh, no no no no.
Frigg in a dress . . . he he. Heheheh. Hehehahahahaha.
Oh, um. Very funny. Yes. Very funny.
Is now when the gnomish custom of dispute resolution via jello wrestling becomes plot relevant?
They’ll be scraping gnome off the dome for a week.
And was that green-eyed fellow supposed to look like a caricature of Ye Devil?
I figured the one wasn’t human, due to the pointy ears and the severely receding brow, but I didn’t know they were both gnomes or hobbitses or whatever until panel 4 put them in perspective.

Could still end in pain, but hey :D
Next comic they are in a tavern getting blasted and trading dirty limericks.
I dig Frigg’s duds! She looks so comfortable and natural in them :-)
Also love how long her attempt at diplomacy lasted.
It lasted as long as theirs did.
Methinks her perpetuscowl doesn’t exactly help matters of diplomacy.
…just sayin’
she puts the coarse in corset…
I love Frigg’s dress! I want one!
Also, I echo the “oh no oh no oh no” sentiment. Because I think diplomacy just took a back seat to mayhem.
And yet I’m intrigued to know just how badly this can go, and whether Frigg will “fail” her mission…
If you’re serious about wanting one, I larp. I can totally find you a whole load of outlets on the web that’ll sell you something appropriate.
I *make* costumes. Actually I’m looking to start selling to those who larp, and cosplay folks too.
But thanks for thinking of me! :D
That’s cool. What country are you in, do you have a website?
No website yet, but a blog (hawksong.wordpress.com)
Getting there on having actually *good* pictures to post… le sigh, I’m lousy at photography :P My thumb always wants a closeup!
agh typo :(

The china shop is now open, oh wait, the mad cow just entered. *runs*
Easy there red, sumfin’ tells me those ‘nomes won’t be goin’ down so eas’ly.
Oh, they’ll be going down. And that’s just the idea they got when they saw how full of spunk she is.
Eek!
Bow-Frigg-a-WOW-wow!
Is it just me, or does Frigg seem like one of those cats that someone has bow or hat or some sort of hat on
scowling and fighting the urge to claw the first thing that gets in range
LOLFrigz
“I KAN HAZ PLNDR NAO?”
She totally does.
When any character grins mischievously like that, its almost never a bluff. I think they have something in store for Frigg. You just have to hope that they underestimated her so she wins out in the end.
Gnomes and their inventive trickery…
I would love to see Syr’nj use her science against the gnomes and their own.
Alas, it was not to be…
snerk.
this aughtta be good.
also. she cleans up nice
