It’s true; I’ve got to say that lately Byron has been – in my opinion – weak; the complete opposite of a berserk, really. They need to get that Cultist in there to give him some “kill kill kill” inspiration again, because he just can’t get it up on his own!
Also, the expression on Syr’nj’s face in the middle left panel is almost comical. Crying with her mouth closed? Really?

I agree with TxGator about Syr’nj’s expression.

As for Byron, the writers have deliberately made him weak for a while to make it that much cooler when he finally does ‘zerk out, which I predict he’ll do before this scene is over. I also predict Syrn’j (where the hell is that apostrophe supposed to go?) will either talk him into it or trigger it by getting hurt or injecting him with something.

Incidentally, I wonder if he still thinks axes on his shoulders are such a great idea after apparently landing with his face on one of them.

I concur with DaveP. Most likely scenario I can guess is that he’ll either come back from the grave all “zerk-ed” out, or someone (Syr’nj) will go into a whole side-quest trying to find a way to revive him after this whole battle.

Amazing facial expressions in #3 and #4, well done John.

Ya know what’d be awesome? The whole party dies here and for the rest of the comic we watch as a Savage-Savasi alliance slaughters the humans, reclaims their lost lands and lives happily ever after as a new era of peace and cooperation is ushered. Perhaps Best could be their king, not only does he “rule” but his awesome guitar skills would maintain the new golden age just like rock/metal music did in Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey. Eh?

While there never truly was a “god”, arguably there does exist that tiny shred of salvation, the tiny light for which we reach like a drowning man wildly groping at water before the darkness sinks in. Of course you have lost that now along with anyone unfortunate enough to lay their eyes on these words.

Look better, mates. Syr’nj is putting her fingers under Byron’s glove. SO she can feel his pulse. Or not, like it seems to be the case.

Even though she’s utterly pissed, I can’t really see how Syr’nj, all tall and slender could beat the trash out of Harki, who is as tall but x times more burly and all.

If he HAD a pulse, I doubt she’d have trouble finding it with gloves on. If she were wearing thick, insulated ski gloves or osmething then yes, she’d probably have trouble. But she’s not–those are thin leather. They’re only designed to protect her hands from minor abrasions/lacerations, not from extreme cold or anything heavy-duty.

I realize it was never established that wood elves have those kinds of abilities, but you have to admit that would be kind of epic- Harki’s being all badass and then starts growing roots. love to see the look on his face then…

It might be a little cheesy but I absolutely love when this happens in fights. When each combatant will land a heavy blow on the opponent at the same time I mean. Frigg probably has the most “HP” right now and they’re likely evenly matched as far as fighting ability goes but he’s a troll so Frigg has to finish this quickly or he’ll outlast her.

I see this ending in one of two ways, both of which I’m probably wrong about. Syrn’j will distract whatshisface and Frigg will beat him into a meaty pulp or Byron will totally kirk out and dice him into cubes then turn his maddened gaze upon his party members.

Oh man, oh man. A friend of mine introduced this to me about a month after it began, but with all other webcomics I read and the fact that “Guilded Age” was a name I could never recall, I never actually read any beyond the OH YEAH! moment with the cultists.

Rediscovered it yesterday, fully caught up now. Kicking myself for not being in on this since the beginning like I could have been, but it was nice having about 6 chapters to read and enjoy, as opposed to my current status of waiting for each new issue.

Anyways, this webcomic is absolutely amazing. The humor actually makes me lol, the characters are so amazing that I can’t pick a favorite (Frigg’s smart mouth and testosterone-crazed, she’s my favorite. But Gravedust is so controlled and quiet in person, yet so eloquent in his journals, he’s my favorite. But Syr’nj is of such pure of purpose in spite of the conflict both in and around her! But ByrRGHRBANDITRGHBLICAN’TCHOOSE!) and the story keeps me returning for more.

Random commenter gives you kudos! You can just place it in the vault with all the rest of them . . .
