AAaA Frigg 1
Lotta speaking from the heart on this one. Frigg’s heart or Phil’s heart or both, hard to say.
Sorry for getting this one up so late: I’ve got a few other plates spinning and failed to remember I hadn’t pulled it out of “draft” status. And while I’m confessing my inadequacies, this is a good time to admit that I had very little to do with most of the “Ask an Adventurer” sub-series (with the glaring exception of the material for one character… maybe you can guess who… we’ll get there when we get there).
So I can’t say what was going through Phil’s mind here, but I can say that she and I (like most human beings) do not have Frigg’s rich well of self-confidence, at least not most of the time. Writing Frigg, we hoped to inspire others, but also to inspire ourselves.
Well, it certainly inspired me! Even though it isn’t in continuity, so to speak, this strip has one of my favourite lines from the entire run: “There’s only one way to be a badass. Your way.”
Just don’t be an asshole, but yeah. Being badass is exactly that.
Get a load of this [bleep] PMSing [bleep] [bleep]! Well, thank you very [bleep]ing much for your [bleep] inspirational [bleep], you [bleep]! Maybe when they’re done taking that [bleep] out of your [bleep] you can answer some more [bleep] questions from the audience, only this time without getting all [bleep]ing [bleep] [bleep] about it. Nice talking to you, [bleep].
Man, even years later, it still makes me giddy that I managed to show up in this comic. Too bad I had dropped off reading to comment here at a reasonable time.
To be fair – I did ask this question long before Chapter 26 showed up, so I had no idea the amount of, uh… “fangirling” Frigg was going to encounter.
Still, be your own badass. It’s very good advice that I need to remember to take to heart again…
