Yeah, see, here we go! AIN’T NO DRAMA LIKE FAMILY DRAMA.
The near-symmetry of the first four panels adds to the comedy, reminding us that father and daughter tend to bring out their worst similar qualities in each other. But God, look at all the rest of it: those evocative old chairs and water glasses, the differences in what they’re eating, the way the moonlight catches the axes, the phosphorescent lights above Faer’s head. Every page set in B’ial Vezk up to now has been full of these organic flourishes.
Around this time, our team did a guest strip for David Willis’ Shortpacked, but it was my and John’s second guest strip and my third because we’d had multiple projects to promote on there. So here’s links to all three of them, though they may require knowledge of some lore or other to fully appreciate: the He-Man riff I did with Jason, this take on old Transformers comic books by me, Phil, and John, and an insert into Shortpacked‘s own continuity by me and John. (I’d follow up on that last one with a lengthy text guest story later.)

Moss elk has some interesting ideas on economic policy.
The stare down below looks like it might be about to get romantic.
