Annotated 2-17
Oh, wait, I guess we do know how much of a time-jump it’s been since the last time we looked in on Gravedust: nine days.
Not sure about the ghost’s expression here. Our script had it as one of relief; Erica’s rendition seems more like surprise unconsciousness. The latter might be more appropriate, since Gravedust doesn’t seem to have been very forthcoming about his role in laying spirits to rest (“I suppose you will find out”), but “to rest” is an important phrase there. If there isn’t some degree of consent to what he does, then he’s just a one-dwarf Ghostbuster, which… sounds kind of cool, actually, but that’s not the direction we wanted to take the character.
[I liked the 2016 movie fine, but its musical theme was… not an improvement.]
Alt text hasn’t aged too well, huh? :/
There isn’t any alt text on the original
Yes, there is. The same as the one here. Today’s also matches. And checking a few of the later (but still early) strips, they have them, so they’re not just being added as the strips are reposted (not sure why they’d bother with that, anyway).
I mean, new alt-text jokes would be cool, but probably not cost-effective.
There better be, because that’s what I copied this from!
It means the same thing now as it did when the strip first came out.
Who you gonna call? Graveduster!
This, I love.
