Annotated 30-28
Ah, right, we confirm Rendar’s survival here. It wouldn’t have been totally out of character for us to bring him down with his creation, but we had plans.
Friendly fire! From Rana’s sequence, it should be clear that there was no way to control exactly when the rocket would reach the airship, much less where it would be when it went down. And Rana, who is often laser-focused on a single goal, isn’t paying too much attention to where it’d drop, anyway.
But in terms of the overall war effort, Rana dropping it directly on the fort is close to the ideal scenario. Putting his fellow Champions in danger isn’t great, but basically destroying the enemy stronghold in a single move outweighs that consideration.
Please correct me if I’m wrong, but this scene makes me think that either T or Phil are/were fans of TSR’s Spelljammer campaign setting
Don’t try this trick in the phlogiston!
