Annotated 30-33
I’m a bit intrigued by the dynamics of E-Merl picking this moment to enter the conversation. Ashok is clearly stumbling a bit, and E-Merl may recognize that a fellow newbie-to-his-group might respond best to his vibe.
Or maybe E-Merl’s just too intrigued not to ask about this occult secret about which Gravedust is only getting vague answers. We knew his curiosity about magicks his teachers didn’t know would be significant later.
Even a more experienced Cultist would be somewhat out of his depth trying to describe the Corruptor Beast. Ashok does all right, considering. His primal fear of it as an existential threat to the physics of the game universe he occupies tells Gravedust and E-Merl what they really need to know.
Going to go on a loop and mention that a Corruptor Beast is probably making its way on the website too. XD
Been a while since my mobile has been able to handle the site, now not even loading the full page and ceasing all function except the link-bar (thankfully can navigate away). Won’t even let me take screenshots of the page.
But now even my laptop has gotten stuck in a way that nothing on this site operates. It at least loads the comic page, so I can see that, but then I can just navigate away and nothing else. ^^’
Only my tabletop computer is mighty enough to fight against the encroaching Beast. XD
For now…
Turn off javascript on the site. It fixed the issue for me, and thus far the only problem I’ve seen has been that the occasional Youtube video in the annotations appears as link to Youtube instead of displaying on this site.
Ha! That did the trick. Many thanks. Was driving me nuts. XD
And now it at least can be noted that it’s something in the java. Maybe the site adds too much milk in it…
Huh, I have the same problem on my PC, I’ll try that
I think that maybe E-Merl has enough empathy to notice the change of tone. What Ashok was saying before, he could file under “stupid cultist shenanigans”, but this bit here is on another scale, and he notices that before Ashok even explains it.
Which, in turn works nicely, I think, to signal the change of tone to the reader. You wouldn’t necessarily imagine Ashok’s tone of voice at the end of the previous page, but E-Merl’s reaction and concerned face provide that context.
