It’s surprising how fast violent confrontations are when one party is determined and acts to achieve a well-defined objective. The last knife fight I saw (and I hope never to see another) lasted all of five seconds.
All JJ needed to do was to get Xan away from the computer before he could lock it. After that it just needs a button pressed or the mouse wiggled every so often, and I’m sure JJ had no issue subduing Xan in less than 30 seconds.
