Annotated 36-4
Man, we’re just dropping all the immediately post-Souff Kural references lately, huh?
Another small alteration: the original panel 1 was an ax a half-second away from making contact with Bayen’s face. I think either version works fine.
Flo gave me a virtual finger-waggle as she inserted the title here and reminded me I’d forgotten to.

“Hello, Byron. My name is Brothyr Homon…”
“HOLY HACKSAWS, YOU’VE GOT A B*Y*N NAME LIKE BAYEN, BRAYEN, AND ME! A FELLOW BATTLESHIREAN, I’M SO GLAD TO SEE YOU! QUICK, KILL THIS CULTIST SCUM AND LET’S GET OUTTA HERE!!”
[He does, chapter ends]
I’m not sure but I think it’S the way HR’s hair and moustache are drawn that makes him look out of place. I could swear he’s still wearing a shirt and tie underneath his robe, ballpoint pen in his shirt pocket and a smartphone in his pants.
…also, these scene changes confused me more than once on the first read-through, because I often didn’t remember what had been happening in this or that thread of the narrative, so I had to skip back one… oh … *three* chapters to remind me what cliffhanger we were left with and then muse what exactly might have happened between then cliffhanger and the scene unfolding now.
Having a thread skip one chapter is fine for me, or having one chapter follow several interwoven threads, but a thread skipping two chapters, not picking up in the same time/context where we left it, when a chapter takes a month or so to release … I know others can keep up with this, but I’ll happily admit that I do find this hard.
He’s drawn less cartoonishly too, look at the size of his eyes compared to the others.
Was Byron the only possessed berserker in the “Fall of Battleshire” or the whole town had gone nuts?
Also, we see a cultist’s presumably dead hand holding a curved dagger. Yet Brother Tom is called “The slayer of Battleshire” or something. I guess they’ve had a party there, hadn’t they? And a whole series of events besides the Battleshire too.
It was the whole town. In fact, I think Byron was one of the last to get infected; it would’ve upped his chance for survival.
With the BYN names are you sure they weren’t Battleshyrean?
Ha!
