I like how Syrnj is always so understanding of this sort of stuff. “No Byron. That’s actually a good question. This is every bit as ominous as it sounds. I probably should’ve filled you in before we came here”
But they’re so Spider-Humanlike, and can be so peaceful and gentle…when they aren’t injecting you with digestive enzymes and feeding on your liquified innards.
So does a Gorillantula eat Banana Slugs? (Oh, in that first panel, the clouds formation is known as a rolling cloud or a shelf cloud. This has to be my trippiest birthday yet.)
I see… so it is the grove where species curious individuals go to mingle and have very inappropriet one night stands resulting in Urrors beyound belief… Why are her people scared again? Feline-Canine HIV…. Fear them.
My first instinct was to feel horror, and so I did. Then came the wonder of the creatures before me. Then I had acceptance that I would never have an idea as awesome as the gorranchula.
I don’t know why I didn’t wrote this before, but the scenary in this page is GREAT! Really beautiful, I just keep staring at it. The first panel I think it’s the best, but not only it. The last one is nice, even the ones we can’t see the background clearly are impressive. Very good!
Thanks, guys. That’s very nice of you. I thought a muted color scheme and misty environment would give this grove scene an eerie quality. Glad you like it.
We’re in ur grove, meeting ur animals.
*slow clap*
Gold Star.
We should all be grateful that we have escaped the punishment that would have been had Best been here.
best was the best character.
All Ur-animals are belong to us.
“But they LOVE the Grove of Um-Plants.”
This is exactly why we don’t dump ur-anium in any grove.
I played this videogame. Impossible creatures was an interesting game, if not a perfect one.
lets hope they don’t encounter a LobsterWhale, those can wreck your other units.
I liked that game a lot. Gorillasharks were pretty boss too…
omg a gorilla spider…and a treeceratops? >:o I almost missed it!
I took it to be a chameleon of some sort, with those projecting eyes. Is it part tree, or just a better mimic? And why can’t I find a good pun? :/
Wooden’t you like to know? Also: Spider gorilla gets big points, but sharp toothed mouths will contribute to the week of nightmares.
The real question is why the wood-elves don’t realize that this place is not only natural, it’s even bettur than the rest.
Oh, look, a spider monkey!
(yeah, I know, it’s really an ape, so pun-ish me!)
Made of win, to be sure!
One more – daddy long legs.
The pit-trap plant, though? I got nothin’. Any suggestions?
I didn’t know they had saarlacs in this world…
“feed me Myron!”
Must resist urge to make spider monkey joke…
And I don’t blame ’em one bit, Syr…
Song celebrating mosquitos?
I get a feeling it sucks.
They tried releasing the song on CDs, but you couldn’t play them due to the scratches.
Every once in a while I get a nagging itch to listen to it though.
I like how Syrnj is always so understanding of this sort of stuff. “No Byron. That’s actually a good question. This is every bit as ominous as it sounds. I probably should’ve filled you in before we came here”
Spidermonkey :3
Spider monkey? I think not, good sir. That is the much-dreaded Gorillanchula. Look upon it’s 40 knuckles of doom and despair!
Eight thumbs up to this baptism. Also the ape-rachnid below . . .
So, what about the thing behind it that appears to be a spider with limbs closer in number and proportion (big arms, tiny legs) to an ape?
It turns into Gorillanchula at 16, then Silverblackwidow at 36.
Gold Star.
I am statting that ape-rachnid, um, stat.
In the grove of madness?
I got nuthin’
When you stare into the grove, the grove stares into you with 8 creepy gorilla-spider eyes…
I’ve heard of spider monkeys before… is this what they look like?
I hope this doesn’t turn out to be a grove mistake. Something tells me Byron may be required to release the animal within.
Spider Gorillas in the mist. I bet no one would bother trying to preserve those.
But they’re so Spider-Humanlike, and can be so peaceful and gentle…when they aren’t injecting you with digestive enzymes and feeding on your liquified innards.
I would have prefered to have mist this one…
they just ate the Wild Kratts.
Just wait for them to stop posing for the frame. Then you’ll see some shit.
Oh no, not the Forest of Ominous Name!
Welp, that’s the place the Gods forgot about.
Gorillanchula claims the name. All other suggestions can go home, Strongholm has got this one.
I believe you mean Gorillantula.
I believe you are right. I also believe I should smack myself for making such a simple mistake like that.
Proof Read Your Posts! It Helps!
I too noticed this after I posted, but was too tired to care. +1 to Timelost for correcting. Gorillantula has come!
If you guys work in a Slenderman cameo, I’d be so, so happy.
Frigg already killed it.
Oo, how about a Creeper cameo?
Spider-ape, Spider-ape, does whatever a Spider can.
Spins a web, any size, catches banana just like flies.
Look Out, here comes the Spider-ape.
Is he strong? Listen bud, he’s got radioactive blood.
Can he swing from a thread? Take a look overhead.
Hey, there. there goes the Spider-ape.
Excelent job with the face on the tree to the right! Or am I seeing too much?
Just now noticed Syr and Byr in the background of the last panel.
But what of that toothy maw in the ground?
It’s a trap!
So does a Gorillantula eat Banana Slugs? (Oh, in that first panel, the clouds formation is known as a rolling cloud or a shelf cloud. This has to be my trippiest birthday yet.)
“Remember, Byron. No matter what else happens, don’t look directly at the Owlbear.”
“Because it’ll charge us?”
“No. Lawsuits.”
Ha! Awesome. Luckily, unlike many other fan favorites, the owlbear is OGL.
I’ll admit, creepy as the Gorillantula and the Stiltmouth are, I’m more concerned about that nest of Oak Weasels in the tree on the right-hand-side.
The Librarian of the Unseen University is officially jealous.
Oook!
Hey, the one in the front looks like my Spore creature!
Guys. Spiders are big enough already IN REAL LIFE. Don’t plant the idea of possible gorilla-sized spiders from another dimension in my head.
for your sanity, it looks to be more primate than arachnid.
and like they’d make epic mounts! they must be tamed, yes.
The long legged thing behind Gorranchulla is far more scary!
And, by the way: http://static.themetapicture.com/media/funny-cute-spider-meme.jpg
I see… so it is the grove where species curious individuals go to mingle and have very inappropriet one night stands resulting in Urrors beyound belief… Why are her people scared again? Feline-Canine HIV…. Fear them.
…see, the only reason I no longer fear spiders is because I can crush them with the smallest gesture of my hand.
When the spider is also a gorilla, this becomes significantly more impossible. It hink the nightmares are going to come back…
Is Byron gonna have to fight spider monkey without being able to berserk? This can’t possibly go wrong.
That place… is strong with the dark side of the Force. A domain of evil it is. In you must go.
Whats in there?
Only what you take with you.
My first instinct was to feel horror, and so I did. Then came the wonder of the creatures before me. Then I had acceptance that I would never have an idea as awesome as the gorranchula.
I wonder if that things catches bananas in a web.
I love the Gorrantulla.
so, who here is with me in voting the Gorrilantula should be the new national animal of Gastonia?
No one’s mentioned the Alexaner-horned Rhino…
Someone’s been watching Spy Kids.
I don’t know why I didn’t wrote this before, but the scenary in this page is GREAT! Really beautiful, I just keep staring at it. The first panel I think it’s the best, but not only it. The last one is nice, even the ones we can’t see the background clearly are impressive. Very good!
I completely agree. There’s a really nice choice of palette. That first panel is one of my favorite illustrations so far in this comic.
Thanks, guys. That’s very nice of you. I thought a muted color scheme and misty environment would give this grove scene an eerie quality. Glad you like it.
Reminds me of http://magiccards.info/gp/en/143.html
‘this is one horrible trip
Ok, the spider-gorilla is awesome.
Well… That is one place i would never go to…. Unless i had an power armor… And a very BIG flamethrower…
No, that grove is two clearings over.
You’ll know it from all the cordyceps.
And the honey badgers.
Gorillantula and what looks to be a Sarlaac
“Ur-” assumedly meaning proto. If these are the results of genetic engineering, or the magical equivalent of it, I will go “SQUEEE”
The gnarly tree on the right looks like it has wolf bark.
The head is on the lower right. It has long legs. The rump is about halfway up, and the tail goes the rest of the way up the tree.
