If you’re going to B’ial Vezk,
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair….
If you’re going to B’ial Vezk,
You’re sure to meet some lovely people there….
“When we all get the power, we all give the best.
Ev’ry minute of an hour, don’t think about the rest
And you all get the power, you all get the best.
And everyone gives everything, and every song … everybody sings”

And the angel of the lord came unto me, snatching me up from my place of slumber. And took me on high, and higher still until we moved to the spaces betwixt the air itself. And he brought me into a vast farmlands of our own Midwest. And as we descended, cries of impending doom rose from the soil. One thousand, nay a million voices full of fear. And terror possessed me then. And I begged, “Angel of the Lord, what are these tortured screams?” And the angel said unto me, “These are the cries of the carrots, the cries of the carrots! You see, Reverend Maynard, tomorrow is harvest day and to them it is the holocaust.” And I sprang from my slumber drenched in sweat like the tears of one million terrified brothers and roared, “Hear me now, I have seen the light! They have a consciousness, they have a life, they have a soul! Damn you! Let the rabbits wear glasses! Save our brothers!” Can I get an amen? Can I get a hallelujah? Thank you Jesus. Life feeds on life feeds on life feeds on life feeds on…….. This is necessary.
I’ve always cottoned to the idea that if Arcane Magick is based on science, logic, and process… then Divine Magick is based on emotion, expression, and philosophy.
Writing incantations for spells in Guilded Age is definitely one of my favorite parts.
I also thought it has a nice old-school Saxon incantation ring to it, though with added Zen.
“if Arcane Magick is based on science, logic, and process… then Divine Magick is based on emotion, expression, and philosophy.”
I think that’s a great way to go about it.
I really liked the healer’s chant, as it’s something I embrace in my continued search for understanding of the world around me. Life consumes life, and so I must eat life to live; remaining aware of this helps me remember to respect the lives I take to continue my own, whatever kingdom / phylum / etc. they come from.
Thanks for a wonderful moment, and may I just add… now THAT is a Wood Elf!
life feeds on life.
Ummm, which life is feeding on which right now?
This isn’t going to be one of those “he’ll live on in the tree” things, is it?
It looks like she made the plant life around him and drained it (panel 5) to siphon it into him? I guess?
And that, my friends, is how Dellyn Goblinslayer was made!
A+
Eww. No. Unfair.
-shudders- One of the most twisted non-Druchii elves I’ve ever seen.
And it moooves uuus aaaaalllll…
… when did we end up on Endor!?
I think this is the closest that Scipio can get to being freaked out.
Agreed. He looks entirely dubious there in panel 3.
I thought it was more of a “Whoa, a healer who actually heals me! I am in love!”
That’s what I thought also.
I think he looks stoned.
Well, he does have a little weed in his hair.
Tch. How messy.
He’s got impressive lung capacity, like that. when one calls Scipio barrel chested, it’s more in reference to the contents.
More like flower power?
I thought life was a cereal, maybe a magazine or something like that…

Thanks bunches. I’m not normally a big fan of Wood Elf factions so T and I are doing our damnedest to keep them lively and interesting.
Burma Shave
(Waiting for the appearance of a Wood Elf who looks like Elton John.)
Nope… wrong neighborhood for the Tooth Fairy.

Flower power man, flower power….
*Salutes* I was going to post that, also.
Now I have to fall back on a dumb line about him getting Lei’d by a wood elf.
bwhahaha
Thankyou, Dr Seuss MD.
I’ve never seen a softer author!

First panel: Shrub-Niggurath Apartment Complex
Panel Five: Yes, Rachel – we’re always surprised to see Scip’s eyes, too.
So they finally got their shrubbery?
Phew! Things got a bit hairy for Scipio there! I hope he’s not looking aslant at the healer there.
Given his position, what do you think he sees in that direction?
Probably something a bit hairy.

I hear the screams of the vegetables…
“Uh…what are the plants using as to grow? Its not my brain, right?”
that’s a nice beautiful little koan you’ve got going on there.
Thanks. I’m kind of proud of it.

Aw come on, their language has enough common words for “densely populated area”, but not town?

And may I also add for humor’s sake: that is one of the least appropriate random icons that could have come up based on my emotions around my post :)
I thought it added to it, actually. In a semi-ironic sort of way . . .
Cheers,
Cote
Did no-one else feel that Rachel seems happier than would be warranted by a simple brother in arms pulling through?
That last panel really gave me the impression that she’s got a thing for the strong silent type.
Poor E-Merl.
Cheers,
Cote
waiting for the roots of the tree to go into his body.
This page is amazing. Because of the tree. I want that as a poster or something. Without the dialogue, though.
Scorpio: “I… look… Faaaaaaaabulous!”
