Start growing some hair up there, buddy. Because otherwise Byron’s going to have to improvise with some rawhide or something, and it’s just not going to have the same effect if he has to attach a strop to each ear.
Tom? Toom? TOOMS? How far does this guy’s influence stretch exactly?
OK, X-Files jokes (“jokes”) aside: I really love the design of that robe. Simplified but stylized, and it’s actually kind of weirdly pretty.
Also, huh, wondering what a cultist so celebrated and influential was doing just hanging out in the market. You gotta admire a guy who takes the time to really pay attention to the ordinary people and their needs.
Fair point, fair point! And I’m betting you’re right on. I just like the mental image of Brother Tom doing some sight-seeing, checking out how the people are doing, really working to help them find that one thing they’d sacrifice their children for. He’s a helper!
HELLO, BROTHERS. I HAVE ADVANCED TO THE HIGHEST LEVELS OF THE CULT.
(Because my skull tat stupidly made me un-hire-able in the world of business administration.)
Hate to kill your point but a wig or simply letting his hair grow out for 2 months would alleviate that problem. And I’m sure one of the cultists under him would allow themselves to be scalped for the benefit of the wig.

Was that Brother Tom speaking with Iwatani?
Shouldn’t Ashok & Ulak be tagged in the stands here and in their previous appearance in the stands?
Indeed–haven’t the cultists been making reference to the Madness being a dark gift of their raving gods of chaos? With allusions to Byron specifically?
Well, it’s the Battleshireans own fault. Had they called it Cattleshire, Brother Tom would not have considered it for destruction — it would not have fit into his alliteration theme.
Anybody else wanting to ship Ashok and Ulak? A man and a troll together, once fighting in the war of their people, united by Chaos …?
They could make it work. You know they could.
Man, when Byron finds out he was so close to the man who destroyed his home and made him kill everyone he ever knew or loved…dude’s gonna be piiiiiiissed.
Hey, nothing wrong with having a third faction in the game. It can really add depth, especially if PCs can play under that banner. Warhammer Online would’ve profited from the Skaven, I tells ya. Rattling guns for all.
Back before Cataclysm, I had sort of hoped WoW would make Venture Corp a third faction made up of Ogres, Goblins, Dark Iron Dwarves, Gnolls and Kobolds. Four of those races are still open thoguh understandably not too popular.
Hello Tom.
They call me ….. Tim.
You called?
Oh, I thought his name was Toom. Y’know, because it rhymes with Doom.
I think I like Toom better
That’s ‘Doctor’ Toom
Brother Doctor Toom?
Or Doctor Brother Toom?
You know there will be trouble if he ever encounters Fr’nj and her squirrel friends then.
Start growing some hair up there, buddy. Because otherwise Byron’s going to have to improvise with some rawhide or something, and it’s just not going to have the same effect if he has to attach a strop to each ear.
Heh. That typo almost works.

A cancer burrows the deepest from the inside out. Also, recall there were other cultists in the town. Brother Tom might have been their cell leader.

Just wanted to say I -love- these cultists. I do not often see villainous characters handled this way, but it’s always a pleasure when I do.
A brotherhood of brothers, spreading purple, hugging, and uniting as one?
Yes… definitely the most villainous are here.
But I do agree with you :)
Syr’nj: This is something Byron needs to do for himself.
Byron: No, I don’t!
Where’s Zoe and Wash when you need them?
And where’s that Hero of Canton run off too this time?!
*snerk*

1) Yes, but we didn’t want to put his name down yet.
2) Yes, fixed.
is brother tom the same guy that tried to cast the insanity spell on byron and syr’nj?
Indeed he is! If you click on Brother Tom, you will see he is now tagged in the strips he appeared in back in October 2010.
breaker of battleshire you say…
source of the madness? makes you wonder.
Indeed–haven’t the cultists been making reference to the Madness being a dark gift of their raving gods of chaos? With allusions to Byron specifically?
And Byron having once saying he is from a place called Battleshire…a place that doesn’t exist anymore.
Well, it’s the Battleshireans own fault. Had they called it Cattleshire, Brother Tom would not have considered it for destruction — it would not have fit into his alliteration theme.
Well he ain’t Harry…
Nah, Harry leads that other sect, the Harry Kirschners.
I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one who went to the old “Tom, Dick and Harry” line. :D
Beat me to it! Bravo!
Yea I was thinking the same thing. Good thing I read the posts first before I posted myself.
For a moment I thought the statue behind Tom in the last panel was a big ritual crown, and I thought “How did he manage to hide that under the hood?”
Ghetsis (from Team Plasma, Pokemon Black & White 1) called, he wants his robe designer back.
The pudding: http://pokemon.wikia.com/wiki/File:Ghetsis.png
Darn it, you beat me to it.

Battleship!

…Just hope he doesn’t get, you know, THAT pissed.
If Byron does, let’s hope it’s when he can do some karmic justice.

Well, he’s certainly not Hairy.
Apparently Brother Tom only attacks places that start with the letter B. At least the other 25 letters of the alphabet are safe.
Well, the As weren’t so noteworthy as he was just getting started (he hasn’t gotten to the Cs yet).
Even though he isn’t close to the letter, Tom is going to do some very horrible things to Goldshire. Or so I’ve heard.
“…The Golden Shower upon the Goldshire! …”
The Bedeviler of Birmingham, the Busker of Burlington, the Beauty of — wait, hold on…
With the right angle He could pass as a “French Tickler”.
What? Brother John couldn’t make it?
You know you’ve been playing WoW too long when you read that as BOOOONE STOOORM!
What a lovely bonding experience. Is this how the Ur-Grove gets repopulated?
Tom is well acquainted with the great wizard Tim!
“I say you, good cultists….does this robe make me look fat?”
Is he like Uncle Tom? and if so is he like the original hero Uncle Tom or the new twisted meaning of Uncle Tom??
Or nothing like that at all…
