And with some of them, not even then. Depends if they have any kind of resurrection type magic (or whatever you’d call it in a religious context) going on.
Hoping most that Rachel is seeing this. Frigg and Scipio already have a strong, negative, fairly-accurate impression of the situation. Rachel is the one who needs to get a clear/convincing understanding of how evil/non-good the others (or at least those two with sight) are.
You know, when you cry for help and mercy and then snap the bones of the person who comes to your aid, it might be time to think “you know, I think I might be the ‘bad guy’ here.”
I wonder if Rachel and her “sisters” are soon going to discover that Rachel’s powers haven’t become diminished- just changed. (She went from a smiting monk to a healing monk.)
Time to break that bitch!
Ever since “Facts of Life” there hasn’t been a ‘Blair’ who isn’t a bitch (and that goes for PM’s who have it as their last name)
“Yes, well, I’d rather be gallant with a broken arm than treacherous–and actually, I’m in an extraordinary amount of pain here, so you’ll forgive me if my quips are lackluster.
My first impression of the last panel was that she was using the hands on her robe to break E-Merl’s spine. After mulling it over while reading these comments, I now think what she’s doing is breaking his right arm with her right hand, there.
…Although Panel 4 suggests that she’s actually breaking his right leg – it’s just that she seems so much closer to his upper body in the last panel. So yeah, she’s probably actually breaking his leg.
If I know my dramatic conventions, I get the impression that E-Merl’s humiliation here is the kind of event that will:
A) Suddenly make E-Merl a whole lot stronger
or
B) E-Merl will remain pretty ineffective for the rest of this battle, but in the epilogue to this chapter, he’ll make a serious commitment to train up and become a lot stronger.
Isn’t E-Merl’s main problem not a lack of strength, but lack of control? I think he mentioned once that he sticks to defense because his offense is extremely powerful and would destroy everything in a sizable radius.
Huh? You may be right, but I don’t remember that. My recollection is that E-Merl can do roughly three things in combat: Illusions of himself, Flick little firebolts at people, and throw up that Windshield for a limited amount of time, to deflect projectiles.
Oooh, looks like someone’s in for a tongue-lashing from Frigg when this is over. (Probably) not the fun kind.
“KA-SMITE!”, “KER-SNAP!” What these folks all dearly need is a little “KER-PEACE!” Capisce?
Well, I appreciated this :)
Peace ? You can’t have peace with religious zealot. Unless you put them “out of action”. Permanently.
And with some of them, not even then. Depends if they have any kind of resurrection type magic (or whatever you’d call it in a religious context) going on.
Yeah, but then you can destroy their whole cult, because they have to wait three days to come back.
I don’t think you’re right. (Part of the reason I’m against drone strikes.)
I’d advise against getting RL-Political in the comments. Really.
But anyhow… you can “have peace” when you’re dead. Not a moment sooner. Life is strife and all that.
Looks like Blair is breaking bad.
I’d come up with a pun to follow if thinking about that ending didn’t still make me cry…
No, she’s breaking E-gurl’s bones, have you not been paying attention? o_O
good thing you don’t need bones to cast spells…
According to http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/boner under definition #2, I’d say E-Murl qualified for it.
And after Blair so helpfully tried to give him a leg up.
After shakin-a-leg to get to her and help, she toe-tally snapped his bone. Did E-Merl even have a foot in the game?
Cliff monster, your picture makes me smile with your comment.
I hope Scipio or Frigg noticed that.
Or even Rachel. You wanna see her power – and anger – wax strong? Attack her man-crush.
Hoping most that Rachel is seeing this. Frigg and Scipio already have a strong, negative, fairly-accurate impression of the situation. Rachel is the one who needs to get a clear/convincing understanding of how evil/non-good the others (or at least those two with sight) are.
When they do, she’ll be on the chopping block for sure.
Nah, E-Murl’s a hostage now. She’s just the type to do it.
Now’s about the time you wanna set her on fire.
OUCH, E-Merl! That was humerus! Which is not funny at all!
I guess that didn’t hit his funny bone, yeah.
I found it rather humerus.
In the words of several characters in Futurama, “yep, he’s boned.”
Here’s hoping that smite took her head off.
You know, when you cry for help and mercy and then snap the bones of the person who comes to your aid, it might be time to think “you know, I think I might be the ‘bad guy’ here.”
Well she’s shown time and time again that the ‘good guy’ thing is just a ploy for them to get what they want the easy way. :3
Q: “Can’t E-Merl catch a break?”
A: “No.”
Stay tuned for more “Ask Captain Obvious” after a word from our sponsors. News at 11.
Looks more like he caught a break right in his upper arm.
Q: “Does answering a negative question with a negative answer create a double negative?”
A: “Yes.”
Nnnnnnope.
And now for the weather! We’re expecting a cold snap that you’ll really feel in your bones!
I wonder if Rachel and her “sisters” are soon going to discover that Rachel’s powers haven’t become diminished- just changed. (She went from a smiting monk to a healing monk.)
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaah, she’s not a virgin.
Time to break that bitch!

Are you sure that whole “Blair Bitch” thing isn’t just a… projection? :D
Well, did go to school with 2 Blair’s, but they were both guys…
Come one, give E-merl a break!
Give him a helping hand!
Chop chop get to it.
He’s all broken up about this, just look at him, totally shattered.
Arm yourselves people.

SUCH GALLANTRY
I’ve come back perhaps 5 times to read this one page, I like that line a lot.
