Bottom – Soup/Broth – Gravedust?
Mid-left – Noodles and Veggies – Payet?
Upper-left – Salad? Can’t see any meat – Syr’nj?
Mid-right – Meat and Potatoes – Byron?
Upper-right – Varied Shellfish – Frigg?
I doubt Bandit is out of holding yet. I think it’s really a toss-up what Payet would eat and whether Frigg or Byron would order the Meat and Taters.
Its amazing what a simple menu order can say about characters in an RPG. I used to have a DM who would roleplay out every bit of a server at every tavern (even wrote out the bill, forcing us to scrounge up a respectable tip, lest we ever want to eat in that town again), which was probably the greatest thing about that campaign.
I recently ran some players through a small town where the Inn had a lamb or a fish dish on offer. They asked me before talking to each person in the bar what meal they took, and still mention that someone looks like a ‘lamb guy’ or a ‘fish guy’
I honestly can’t understand why Syr’Nj wouldn’t eat meat.. I mean, her people equate themselves with plants, wouldn’t it be more terrible to eat plants? o.o
And I think that understanding the circle* of life, they would do their best to outcompete all other species in the same niche so as to hog all the resources for themselves… like humans do, but better.
( * : Tends to be more like a spiral of life in practice… leading to a horrible mess at the end. )
That’s not meat and potatoes. That’s bread and some kind of soup. Look at the spoon it’s served with. The bread is a wide baguette that’s been sliced on the bias (45 degree angle). The bottom one has a slice of carrot and noodles floating in it. It’s the right color to be chicken noodle soup. And that salad doesn’t look like a salad to me…all the dressing is on the plate/bowl, none is on the veggies. Vegtable stew, maybe?
… So a pile of fungi and stuff… one plate of various things dredged up from the beach… noodles in dirt-water with broccoli… bread with unprepared roadkill (or possibly the stools of a dog with rroids)… and a bowl of what is either pea-soup or gelatinous-cube-extract.
I believe my stomach will be providing something more appetising (and half-digested) in a few moments.
[In Mr. Creosote’s voice:] “I’ll have the lot.”
Better get a bucket.
I honestly can’t decide what looks the most delicious.
i’ve never been so appetized by mere drawings of food. fantastic

Upper-right – Frigg
How right am I?
Nah . . . I think Gravedust has the plain broth at the bottom. Ascetic, y’know.
Who’s the fifth plate, Bandit or Payet?

Sounds like the worst campaign ever then.

I don’t think eating plants would change anything. I think that being more in tune with nature the wood elves would understand the circle of life.
And I think that understanding the circle* of life, they would do their best to outcompete all other species in the same niche so as to hog all the resources for themselves… like humans do, but better.

Raising_Cain, maybe Syr’Nj has the plateful of shellfish. Nothing on that plate is encountered in the woodlands.
But most people eat stuff from where they’re from. By necessity if not preference.
Syr’nj likes to experiment, though. She’s a wood-elf who ‘does science’, after all.
Alternative theory: all dishes are for Payet.
Horribly believable.

Starting from the top-left and going counter-clockwise:
Frigg (or Byron)
Syr’nj
Gravedust
Byron (or Frigg)
Payet
This honestly looks great =)
Dammit, now I want seafood.

Oh yeah . . . and the triple-dot thing. So much hate for that.
Wow… it got fixed somewhere between 2013 and now. Awesome!
It is still its own character, but now it is flush with the baseline! ^_^
……..
I’m hungry.
Thanks a lot.
