Bandit’s leader of Scipio and their crew, Syr is leader of the original troupe. I hope it stays that way; I haven’t forgotten the way Bandit treated Byron the last time. >:I
Bandit’s in charge of the field ops, Syr’s in charge of the overall managment, so technically, when on the field, even the original troupe have to obey Bandit’s orders. And the deciding vote was Frigg’s.
As for how Bandit treated Byron, welp. Karishi said it. Cutting someone to pieces tend to leave some bad blood between people, though they reconciled afterward.
…..that was rather unexpected and a bit of a let down. After all the shanks and slashes and hacks. Two lil daggers from someone with less muscle runs him off? Even if its in that hard to reach spot….weak.
the difference here is that HAMMER could do something about Scorp and Byron. Bandits too tiny for him to do something about himself so he’s off to find help
also, Bandit had the advantage of moving slow enough to aim her hits rather than just hoping it works
Realistic rules of combat #7: If you’re a huge guy, and a little guy is on your back out of reach, rather than jerk around swatting at them like a dog with fleas, fall back. Use your weight to force them to get off or die.
Hammer needs to get on this rule ASAP. But at least from his side of things he forced the Amped-Up Byron to retreat.
Stand by, I shall address more “Rules of realistic fantasy combat that make sense” as we go. No doubt the coming pages will provide plenty of good fodder.
I understand your point, but consider: Hammerhead has been taking attacks with a pair of Battleaxes and a Bastard/Broadsword without slowing down, I doubt a pair of daggers sized for a small Gnome even have much more length to penetrate. Not to mention they are stuck in the back, so most vital organs are out of reach. Sure it would hurt, but he seems largely immune to pain and it would be worth it to take out Bandit before she can do something more dangerous.
Yes, but the daggers are near the spine. She is controlling him and because he Does not care and moves on instinct she rides him. Although like a buckling horse that hasn’t been tamed yet…
He’s not a berserker. His Kin are but not him. THAT is why he is special. He’s not a mindless brute, but a carefully thinking killing machine. He’s not being controlled by her. He KNOWS how close her daggers are to something important, and is retreating in the hopes she’ll be forced to withdraw and not finish him. She’s a rogue and he knows it. Backstab is a bitch, no matter how much you tank.
Would it not be the funniest thing ever if the reason for this sudden behavior were actually that his shark-brain is conditioned to follow orders shouted after the word “Guy”?
I can’t believe no one mentioned this yet. Landsharks obey loud voices. Bandit yelled. Hammerhead started running. It is his only weakness! If you can outshout him, especially when distracted, he does what he’s told!
How much blood does HAMMERHEAD have left? I mean, he’s covered in wounds that are constantly leaking. He can’t have much more before he passes out from sheer oxygen loss.
You may be right…
I mean, the landsharks, despite being LANDsharks appear to have gill slits… which they should not need if they have lungs. Maybe they’ve got some specialized gills that work with air?? Which would be why they move around a lot.
But then again, they can roar and speak, which means they have lungs as well.
Someone ask an adventurer how landshark biology works!!
I didn’t realize that Bandit was running this operation.
Bandit and Syr seem to be the head honchos of the group. I kinda like Bandit’s leadership record.
Bandit’s leader of Scipio and their crew, Syr is leader of the original troupe. I hope it stays that way; I haven’t forgotten the way Bandit treated Byron the last time. >:I
To be fair, cutting someone into three pieces is kind of a dick move.
Bandit’s in charge of the field ops, Syr’s in charge of the overall managment, so technically, when on the field, even the original troupe have to obey Bandit’s orders. And the deciding vote was Frigg’s.

You people are terrible at puns. Terrible, you hear?
Running their mouths off doesn’t help.
You may not have forgotten, but I have. How did she treat him exactly? Mostly I just remember Frigg’s treatment of Byron.
Bandit’s leadership record? What is that?
Nobody remembers the vote that Bandit won? And then she and Byron buried the hatchet (not literally this time).
I wish it had been literally. :/
you have lost my friendship, stranger, if you believe harm should come to Bandit…
I don’t think that’s the type of hatchet he was talking about.
These are not the hatchet.
…
The hatchet is my penis.
Loving how Bandit successfully made a massive shark cry..
I wonder how she is at poker.
She’s obviously pretty good at poke-HIM…

pluss, we don’t know where HAMMER is heading ;)

Makes me think of the giant Vs the Dread Pirate Roberts in The Princes Bride.
Where are the other rules of combat?
Or is this like the Zombieland rules?

Ooooh right.
Fall back so the knifes dig even deeper so they reach something important, like the heart. Sharks got two or three of those anyway, right?
I understand your point, but consider: Hammerhead has been taking attacks with a pair of Battleaxes and a Bastard/Broadsword without slowing down, I doubt a pair of daggers sized for a small Gnome even have much more length to penetrate. also, prety sure the red streak is Byron, not Hammerhead :P
Yup, you can juussstttt make out the shape of Byron at the head of the streak just inside the gates
Ooh, good catch guys. I missed that one.
She’s got the tigershark by the dorsal fin…it’s not a perfect analogy.
…actually, i think she’s holding onto her dagger hilts.
Fly like a butterfly, sting like a gnome.
In that last panel, she looks amazingly like Sydney Scoville.
Probably doesn’t handle the spicy food as well though.
Who can? Still waiting to see ‘Les try one of her favourite dishes
He’s headed back to deep enemy territory, Keynes. Disengage NOW.
Although I would like to see how the Big H fares back among the other landsharks … oozing as he is with irresistible blood …
GNOMEGNOMEGNOMEGNOMEGNOMEGNOMEGNOMEGNOMEGNOMEGNOMEGNOMEGNOMEGNOME!
Gnome Mix: It’s the one landsharks ask for by name!
Once again, a true berserker would not care if someone was stabbing him, nor would he run past someone and not attempt to kill them!
Yes, but the daggers are near the spine. She is controlling him and because he Does not care and moves on instinct she rides him. Although like a buckling horse that hasn’t been tamed yet…
That’s how I see it.
Bandit has called the big one. Again, it is the legend.
You know Jean-Luc, you remind me of someone from the film Dune :-)
Not a bad analogy… however, Bandit’s situation seems more like a Nantucket sleigh-ride.

Aw, cute, HAMMERHEAD is pretending to be an airplane! He’s my favorite character so far, with his big happy smiles and gregarious demeanor!
HAMMERHEAD needs a hug, stat!
Would it not be the funniest thing ever if the reason for this sudden behavior were actually that his shark-brain is conditioned to follow orders shouted after the word “Guy”?
flash just entered the building hehe
So, Bandit has a landshark mount now?
So am I the only one who noticed Hammer is crying in panel one? Wonder what that’s about.
There is more than one cause of tears to flow
Huh. That is odd.
He’s salivating for flesh so much, it’s coming out thru his eyes.
Or the stabby pain is making him cry.
And all the other landsharks said “PLEASE! HAMMER! DON’T HURT HIM!”
I can’t believe no one mentioned this yet. Landsharks obey loud voices. Bandit yelled. Hammerhead started running. It is his only weakness! If you can outshout him, especially when distracted, he does what he’s told!
MAKE ME A SANDWICH, GUY!
Frame 1 of HAMMERHEAD’s face. I am so looking forward to that ending up in the random Gravatars.
That’s it Bandit, steer the self-basting-in-his-own-red-sauce towards some hungry sharks, let his own kin deal with him
“We’ve gotten the adorable gnome! Objective completed!”
“Can’t reach, too much muscle! Damn, the old gnoll lady was right!”
How much blood does HAMMERHEAD have left? I mean, he’s covered in wounds that are constantly leaking. He can’t have much more before he passes out from sheer oxygen loss.
Wait, that’s why he’s running: As a shark, he needs to keep moving in order to breath.
You may be right…

…Am I the only terrible person that looked at this image and thought “Bandit x Hammerhead?” I really hope I am.
