While I do find it funny Gravedust has his own section [I mean literally laughed] I do give it credit. They coulda swept him under the rug, or little importance. It’s kind of cool that he would/could be credited for the creation or inspiration of the Peacekeepers.Good work Gastonian journalists
True, but the rest was remarkably patronizing or latently deprecatory. From left to right it’s “Awww, look at dem liddle gnomes, building so nice stuff for us!”, “Yep, they sure love their trees!” and “We’ll just ignore their innate mastery of magiks and their old history and show you their young getting drunk.”
But why report on what has always been known. I find it more interesting to report the ‘other’ side of the looking glass, that Sky Elves are not all hard asses, Wood Elves are a reliable source to purchase lumber, and that not all dwarves are mindless prancing death axes?
Yeah, good work indeed. Why, they talk about all those silly little gnomes and elves and That One Dwarf as if they were actually people, even! How tolerant of them!
This reminds of the patronizing tone of a propaganda film from the US during World War 2, about Brazil’s contribution to the Allied war effort, that I once saw.
As I recall, it was shown in the context of a documentary about how Orson Welles was commissioned to travel to Brazil and produce propaganda films, but instead he produced real films, which went unreleased for many years, thanks in no small part to Hollywood racism.
I somehow feel that it is worth noting: It looks like Gastonia racism might degrade over time? If my memory serves, gnomes have been with Gastonia the longest (and given them the most stuff). So I suppose it’d make sense that their article would be the least condescending of the four.
That is the best damn Gravedust-face I have ever seen. Can we get that colored and made into a Gravatar?
Had to be a pic taken at the DMV. “Err … can you re-take that? I wasn’t ready …”
Naaah, keep it sepia toned!
He is probably making that face as he reads/sees it.
Isn’t it a copypasta from the Q&A strip where he was whining about people becoming accustomed to war?
They failed to mention the Gravedust race’s innate mastery of comedy!
Oh Gravedust. You’re facial expressions never cease to amuse.
A case of gravatar identity theft? This must be investigated
Did you… Just swap emails to reply to that?
Hmm. Used the wrong email.

A credit to his species!
I wonder if Gravedusts can be bred in captivity.
“Gnometwn hometown”? Where’s the copy editor when ya need him?
Sea, that’s why eye awl weighs use spill chick.
They ran out of “o” with all the wood elf stories.
Hey, still better than being called a shit dwarf.
I am sure the Sky Elves will muchly appreciate their race being represented in the media by the drunken youngling.
It’s how England is seen by most of Greece and Spain. At least those parts of Greece and Spain with a beach :-)
Now there are a couple of countries where the top-end computers probably still utilise punch-cards.

Because it’s clearly supposed to be “Yellow(ish) Journalism.” It’s a tabloid, rather than true journalism.
Well, it is talking about the Sky elves you’re likely to see.
Yeah, good work indeed. Why, they talk about all those silly little gnomes and elves and That One Dwarf as if they were actually people, even! How tolerant of them!
Yes, good work.
“Although the dwarven race has condemned itself to destruction…”
Good work providing the proverbial smoking gun should anyone ever try to argue that Gastonia’s war policy is anything other than genocidal.
Gravedust is now a race.
ALL HAIL GRAVEDUSTIA.
Well, for the plans of the mystics to suceed, he needs to become a father of many.
Rumour has it that gravedust genes are dominant.
I, for one, welcome our new Gravedust overlords.

Their typesetter forgot the endquote and period after “Peacemakers
Gnomes, Wood Elves, Sky Elves…. Gravedust.
I pretty much lost it.
Gastonia – turning sky elves into shit elves
It’s all they know how to do!
More like shit-faced elves. (Remember, don’t drink and fly!)
Ahh Gravedust, always good to see he remains within a class all of his own.
Wow! Even when they’re being nice the Gastonians are still insufferable.
Really enjoying this segment so far! Sophisticated representation of news bias and a chance to see things ‘as they are’ from another perspective.
Oh merciless elder gods, this is one of the funniest pages yet! XD
I love how Gravedust is a race

“He’s one of the good ‘uns, yessir.”
Wait – is that journalist a Gastonian version of Clark Kent?
Good catch!
Took me a while to figure out how offensive each one of those profiles were. Details like that are why I love this comic.
So Guilded Age takes place in the 16th century. Interesting.
