I’ve been reading this comic from the beginning, and have always been able to follow what’s going on, even with all the scene and time switching, which I’ve had no problem with. But I have no idea what’s meant to be happening in today’s strip, after “Trust me. I’ve got an idea.” Could some kind soul please walk me through it?
I don’ t think it’s going to work. Either one of the pirate-puppets will wake up, or one of the pirates on the ship will make his DC5 spot check and figure it out…cue chaotic symphony and make sure the foley guys have lots of metal to bang together.
The pirate ship they are trying to sneak on board is putting out (i.e. getting ready to leave). You can see the front end of the ship with figurehead in the first panel, and the gangplank in the last panel.
im sure glad you people understand whats going on, im sure as hell have no clue anymore. sometime i can almost feel like theres a connection betwin one page and the next, but this alosive feeling never stay too long
Don’t worry … your IP has been logged and you should be getting your official Guilded Age flowchart and spreadsheet soon. You’ll be able to take notes and make connections like a pro!
Where is Bandit? She’s absent since getting out of jail, appears in the sky elf scene, and I don’t see her here. I’m confused. I like Bandit.
@NerdPatrol Putting out is a play on words. It means both “a ship leaving harbor) and, according to GoAskAlice,
“Traditionally, “putting out” has been used as a derogatory term directed at women who offer or readily agree to have sexual intercourse. In other words, it implies that someone is easy or available.”
Byron interrupted Frigg and Payet having sex after the battle with the guards, thus the double entendre.
All that said, Frigg probably doesn’t give a shit about the “easy and available” derogatory meaning. She has the easy confidence of someone who can and will lay you out like a cheap carpet, for grins.
Behold, the power of the Kwok.
Gravedust has… just a torso?
No, it’s just a short guy. First panel shows you the heights of the guys.
Oooh, look…
Pirate puppets!
They won’t notice a thing
What, no mullet and stubble? Shame. SHAME!
Byron? BYRON? BYYYYYYYYRON?!!!!
Fission mailed…
You take that star out of the post-box this instant.

Byron’s sneaking up behind pairs of pirates and knocking heads together (see the axe? He may be helping the process by using the butt end).
Then they tie ankles and wrists to themselves, and voila – pirate puppets!
But it looks like they’re using them backwards, which would be really awkward! And
PetePayet looks less than thrilled with his.Thank you!

Pirate puppetry…
And here I was expecting Byron to want them to steal the pirates’ clothes.
Frigg doesn’t look too impressed either. Although she may just still be angry with Byron over the interrupting thing.
I get the feeling she’s more upset at not having been allowed to do the Kwok-ing.
First panel “And we know how you love to interrupt pitting out”
They’re not going to get past that one for a little bit yet.
I know which of my players would come up with a plan like this. He would be just as convinced that it was a good idea as Byron seems to be.
“It’s a GREAT IDEA!” – last character to say that in any game run by my group of friends ended up in the stomach of a giant fish…
…He lived to be mocked about it afterward.
My what are the odds that there were 5 party sized pirates waiting for them? …I guess nothing is impossible, just highly improbable.
Anything is possible when you have the power of Plot fueling your adventures.
Wow, I also had no idea what was going on there. Even with it explained I’m pretty confused. What is putting out?

“Okay, either this works because its so bizarre that the crew simply won’t believe it’s happening, or we resort to plan B: Surrealist Puppet Show”.
you guys timeslip more then Territino, or Momento….\
which incidentally makes it hard to follow for those of us, who don’t follow timeslipping very well….
Maybe they could get some kind of Steampunk instant camera and take photos to help us remember things.
I’d prefer a sorcery camera. Instant speed makes things too messy, especially right before the end step.
You could also probably lower the cost by {U} or so.
xD
Hahahahaha! Worst! Disguise! Ever! Of all times! ahahha
…I would have gone with cardboard box.
that is never going to work. period
One, two, three o’clock, four o’clock, kwok,
Five, six, seven o’clock, eight o’clock, kwok,
Nine, ten, eleven o’clock, twelve o’clock, kwok,
We’re gonna kwok around the clock tonight~
It looks like yet another successful Berserker Negotiation Skill check.

It was the “Ship leaving harbor” part of putting out I wasn’t familiar with :)
i am rather fond of “kwok-ing” why if i had my way id “kwok” constantly.
i kwok really hard though, so it may be detrimental to my health…
