Byron and Gravedust are in one place, they bust in the door and find the kid tied to the pole –
Syr’Nj and Frigg are “beneath the ship’s topsoil,” finding the captives –
and Mr. Frabjous is a third somewhere different, and Byron and Gravedust’s aren’t looking at that, despite what yesterday’s comic tricksily led us to believe.
Ok, I’ll just settle for reading and enjoying and give up on understanding.
I will stop trying to figure out what is happening to whom at what time and at what coordinates in space.
It doesn’t make sense, but it is fun.
perhaps… ghost pirates want revenge on living pirate captain, so living pirate captain makes captive kid new ‘captain’ until ghost pirates kill him and go to their eternal rest, leaving way for former living pirate captain to reclaim the captaincy… doesn’t seem that confusing.
I’m sensing a Peter Pan vibe. Maybe the crew were originally all children (having “recruited” rather than “kidnapped” the noble children?), and their ship got hijacked by these adult pirates?
Clearly, your alt-text has encountered Shippers before. But if Frigg/Syr’Nj ships with Byron/Best, do we pair the spares and get Gravedust/Bandit? or is someone workin’ an OT3?
….Oh my various gods, fandom has boiled away my brain.
Actually, based on the coloration and lighting differences between panels in this and the previous comic, i assumed from the start that Byron and Gravedust were in a different area than Capt. Morgan and his remaining band. I think what we are seeing here is the overly dramatic pirate leader rallying his remaining cannon fodder for an epic stand in one area, G and B rescuing a kid in another and the ladies in a differing area still. So clearly Payet will be fighting the pirates by himself. And he’ll win. Because rock is awesome.
Oh, I get it now, took me a while. Capt. Morgan was talking to his crew about Best (he said “Legendary Hero” not heroes) on the previous page. Get it now, moving on…
That’s a good point. The singular ‘hero’ did throw me off a bit but I figured maybe Mr. Frabjous just assumed one was the hero and one was the hero’s flunky? I figured it would be explained.
The light difference I noticed, too, but chalked it up as “they’re looking in to a room that has shadowing lighting,” or something.
I’m usually able to keep up with the flash-forwards and flash-backs, but now I’m just completely lost. What happened to the ass pirate? Why is a kid wearing a captain’s hat?
Where are my pants?
Are we going to catch up to where they’re in a flooding jail cell or the volcano any time soon?
While I admit this is a Quinton Tarantino style webcomic timeline wise, none of it is hard to figure out, and the further in we get the more sense it makes.
Curiouser and curiouser…
I had to do a double take of the last page, great WTH? moment.
Echantment mayhaps?
This is a bit confusing. If I follow this right –
Byron and Gravedust are in one place, they bust in the door and find the kid tied to the pole –
Syr’Nj and Frigg are “beneath the ship’s topsoil,” finding the captives –
and Mr. Frabjous is a third somewhere different, and Byron and Gravedust’s aren’t looking at that, despite what yesterday’s comic tricksily led us to believe.
Right? Or am I all backwards?
Mr. Frabjous is up top salivating at the prospect of having a heroic battle. You can clearly see rocks, rope, and railing in the background.
By Jove, I think you’ve got it! For your next trick may I suggest the challenge of adding chocolate to milk.
Now, once again – where does it rain?
The rine in Spine falls mainly on the pline.
is that ‘the’ Sortelli? The ‘elf only inn’ Sortelli? I loved Elf Only Inn!
Oh, why thank you!
Wait, what is that over there? *throws down a smoke grenade and vanishes*
Mr. Frabjous is on the deck, presumably watching Payet fight his crew.
The last comic had a cutaway shot from Gravedust and Byron to the topside.
Ok, I’ll just settle for reading and enjoying and give up on understanding.

+1 for what sebastian said.

I spy a treasure chest. I wonder if it’s poorly locked?
If it is, do you think one of the goblins will have taken the initiative to use the objects inside?
Sonofacrap! I hope not…
Bwa ha ha, I was hoping someone would get the reference.
While I admit this is a Quinton Tarantino style webcomic timeline wise, none of it is hard to figure out, and the further in we get the more sense it makes.
Im still waiting for the stripper to pop out of the cake! It’ll happen, you’ll see!
Frigg pinned Syr’Nj’s limbs to the ground, nibbling at her bark. Syr’Nj moaned “Don’t stop…”
You asked for it. And yeah, Syr’Nj refers to her own and others’ anatomy by tree anatomy. XD So she has bark, not skin.
I. Hate. You.
Now we’re gonna start thinking about flowing sap.
Da^^#it.
Hate. You.
Not only are they the OTP, but they’re the slap-slap-kiss kind! Gah! Next thing you know, they’ll be trotting out the Mary Sues and the Gary Stues!
…Wait… Best… perfect hero… everyone loves him even though he’s a total douche…
Argh, they’ve already done it!
…So does this mean that the whole comic is a humorous deconstruction/reconstruction of bad fan-fiction?
“Syr’Nj X Frigg = OTP !!!1~~”
Why? Why did you have to write that?
You heard it folks. That’s Word of God. Syr’igg is canon.
HA! I knew it was the same kid with hammer tank! Now I have tags to prove it!
Anyone else have trouble following?
