I will laugh my ass off if the elf says someting about Frigg having goddly powers and then does a spit-take when she says the turned them down… with how certain the old gods were that she”d accept, I’d be suprised if the winter elves forsaw her accepting and never imagined she’d ever in a million years refuse them.
Unless it’s literally an offer she can’t refuse – she’s far enough down the path that she’s going to become a god now whatever she does, it’s just a question of when and how.
Her defiance simply means that it didn’t happen here & now, but merely solidified her on the path for someday later. If she truly wanted to defy it, then Frigg would just sit back & do *nothing* at all.
I am imagining Syr’Nj’s line with the enthusiasm and glee of a pre-teen girl about to go to her favorite boy band’s concert, and nothing anyone says will change that.
She even made a list…And checked it twice. She’s going to find out who’s been naughty & who’s been nice. Some, she already knows about…For example, Payet Best is listed as first on the naughty side.
As if we needed any more confirmation that Best is a player character. He doesn’t die from the cold outright, but instead was just losing HP.
And the blue skin is just a debuff that can be dispelled with a quick torch to the face.
Maybe this will teach Best to be at least a little bit humble. Y’know, like Wav. Even after I figured out that they were the same person, I was kind of hoping that the transformation was irreversible, because I just like Wav better.
This page is a VERY nice dichotomy: inner strength vs inner weakness. Great work guys!
Best is weak: when the manchild bard learns he will not be a legend, he implodes into depression because of his own unrealistic expectations of himself. He has very little empathy for others so he does not care about helping the world, just helping himself to all the status and glory from being ‘the savior’. He’s a truly pathetic excuse for a ‘hero’ of any kind, which is part of why so many readers (like me) did NOT want him to even return at all.
Frigg is strong: she cares so little about immortality and legacy that she refuses an offer to literally BECOME A GODDESS! She doesn’t need an inflated view of herself, she KNOWS she is an awesome hero because she PROVED it many times over with no expectation of any reward (Best expects status and glory).
She has max empathy for her friends and innocents in general, helping them and getting the knowledge that Rachael is at peace somewhere is all she really cares about. This is what a hero is meant to be- a pinnacle of selflessness and bravery who would work EXACTLY as hard at saving others if a million fans praised them forever as they would if only one did for a single moment. Frigg has definitely earned her place as a fan favorite and is a decent role model most of the time.
TL;DR this page is a visual QED proof that Frigg >>>>>>> Best , in case that even needed clarification
My internet connection stopped working over a week ago and my ISP still hasn’t fixed it (on a different connection right now), so I just caught up with the past week’s events. Belated congratulations to T and Janice!
On this page: Smurfette seems to finally have moved past Denial. Weo: “I would’ve made you some humble pie too, but I knew you wouldn’t need it anymore.”
Psh. That joke wasn’t Loki at all.
I really didn’t laugh my Asgard off at all.
It’s about Heimdall of you stop with the jokes.
But you can have a pin-up of it as a calendar.

Enough with these pedantic puns. It’s time to take it up to the next Tyr.

I’m afraid of the matter-antimatter explosion that will occur when Best learns that Frigg was offered godhood… and turned it down.

A list is unnecessary when the fortuneteller can tell what you want to know, or even what you don’t know you need to know…
But putting that much effort into a nice list is just polite.
The list could be used to write down the answers. With that many questions they might otherwise blur together?
When at the north pole, write lists like the Santas.
The list was probably meant more to help Syr’Nj keep track of her thoughts then it was to help Weo.
Just making the list shows that Syr’nj is the Rules Lawyer of the group. Hey, it fits her passion for applying Science to everything, right?
O.o
Turns out Best’s Heroic Destiny was just making sure Frigg didn’t walk off a cliff in this fog. He dies in the next strip.
He’s already dead. Frost scarabs have hollowed out his insides between panels 3 and 4, leaving an empty bag of skin that hasn’t yet fallen over.
Too easy, but someone has to say it:
Is this a change?
Blue Elf needs food, badly!
And a shirt. Good thing he’s not a Savasi or he’d be mistaken for a Smurf by now.
Adopting Smurfette’s colour scheme was a deliberate choice that serves to underline his diva status.
As if we needed any more confirmation that Best is a player character. He doesn’t die from the cold outright, but instead was just losing HP.

Ah, Syr’Nj… Ever so well-prepared. ^_^
Haha… and I just realized Best is a mood ring. Why, he isn’t cold at all, just feeling Blue.
Sge who Friggs last, Friggs Best.
Syr’nj, that’s just your checklist on making a checklist.
