Eye do not think any paragdims have been transcended. Eye think Mr. Dedalus has transformed himself into a cartoonish villain, from visionary to eyesore.
Taro embraced being a monster. Carol apparently still has parts of her subconscious trying to tell her this whole thing is a mistake. I’m sure Taro murdered any such aspects of himself long ago.
Since the dream sequences tell me Carol’s still got something akin to humanity left in her, I’m almost hoping once they get down to the basement and realize there’s no *known* way to wake up HR/the five without killing them that somehow Carol might decide to help figure out a way of waking them because she… wants to? A little bit?
Either way, I don’t mind however Carol’s endgame plays out; I like her as the conflicted villain character already so anything from this point, since I wouldn’t mind seeing her change her ways OR stay a villain, will be entertaining to me. :)

So you’re gonna turn your back on her and lower the gun. Smart.
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Xan’s armed, too.
Xan’s armed as well. His right arm is off-camera, but I’m pretty sure he’s pointing his weapon at her as well.
Actually, the arm is in-frame, just difficult to see. And yes, he is pointing a gun at her.
In Panel 2 you can’t see Xan’s gun arm in Panel 5 you can see his gun hand.
I’m reminded of the beginning of Casino Royale.
You’re not the only one.
It’s a good scene, well worth repeating.
I wasn’t, but damn, that is a great parallel.
So, Mr. Dedalus is transcending paradigms, eh?
Well: meet my little friend, Mr. DEADalus. He’ll transform your paradigm – irreversibly.

Seriously disappointed in Carol. Even that prick Taro got one good shot. Maybe she thinks they’ll start melting in a few minutes if she waits.
She’s a supervillain’s EA, that’s not the same league as a tyrant like Taro, even a pint-size done.

wasn’t JJ her one shot? She hired the guy who killed one of their own. :(
Now’s not the best time to spontaneously jazz hands, Carol.
Ah ha, that made me laugh. Thanks.
No such thing as a bad time for jazz hands.
“Oh, look at little miss gun-haver, so scary!”
Ideal avatar for this…

plot twist, sepia world is the game.
Oh my gosh! No-one’s ever said that before! Gosh, you’re smart and witty!
Sole sure thing : the sepia world is virtual.
Penultimate plot twist: Sepia world is a web comic. By Scipio.
Scipio-world is a game.
The Wire has taught me that the game is the game.
“Well, you needn’t worry. The second is… ”
[Bond shoots him]
“Yes, considerably.”
She thought she had read the situation. She was wrong. That kind of wrong can be fatal.
Well, it certainly transcends something.
i shot a man in reno just to…shoot another man more easily?
I would like to have the guts to shoot anyone who talks about “transcending paradigms.” H.R. may be horrible, but bizspeak is the Font of Evil.
I thought the font of evil was Comic Sans. :/
“hah, silly lady, I know you can’t shoot guns”
“actually, I already did”
“oh, understandable, have a nice day”
Could be worse, you could be that guy who got shot by Dick Cheney and apologized for being shot.
I suspect my “first time I shot a guy” story and my “last time I shot a guy” story are going to be the same story, and me the same guy.
