And no one on either side will mourn his death. Although from a Sepia World perspective, I wonder how that death will affect the game’s ESRB rating. :D
And yet, one of the most popular mod in fallout3/4 and skyrim are mods allowing to kill kids, then you can see a lot of people enjoying a discussion where they explain how creatively they keep killing virtual kids that annoys them.
So yeah, ESRB rating aside, it’d probably give the game a push in popularity. XD
Yeah, the vast majority of games treat child death as taboo. Torture, blowing up a city, eating souls, sure. But don’t you dare show one damn child corpse!
With all this smoking factory stuff, poor old Itawa- ‘scuze me, Gastonia — is starting to look like Sepia World already. And there’s a certain symmetry here, with Bandit sneaking into the secret war machine factory and Our Heroes (Or Whatever) sneaking into Hurricane…
Speaking of “killing a child”, well, Bandit’s there. She’s up to something. I personally would not hold anything against her- even in an ethical/moral sense- for doing away with this evil brat. However, your comment got me thinking:
Instead of shank-stabbing Taro, why not just fatally sabotage the machine? Less blood on her hands, perhaps less risk, albeit less chance of getting the job done. Perhaps less “anti-killing a child” as well?
No, if Bandit sabotaged the machine, that’s the same as stabbing the kid as far as I’m concerned. Worse if he ends up crippled or bleeds to death over several hours from a gut wound, which would be more easily avoidable with the stabbing option. The only way it’s not murder is if the explosion is caused by a previously-unknown design issue, or if he crashes on his own because he’s not a trained pilot.
The machine being horribly dangerous doesn’t *necessarily* guarantee that he’ll die, I could see him just getting humiliatingly saved from his own weapon and forced to concede power.
Well, true comeuppance would involve some suitably ironic punishments, which seems unlikely here. But at the end of the day, I’ll settle for some blowuppance.
If he’s going to drive the thing is it too late to make a few last minute “improvements”, say to the boiler pressure relief valve and the inside door handles? For safety of the king of course.
Taro getting killed by his own stupidity would spare our heroes the trouble of killing a child.
And no one on either side will mourn his death. Although from a Sepia World perspective, I wonder how that death will affect the game’s ESRB rating. :D
Probably no more or less than it already has by a massive war with huge amounts of killing
There’s a reason kids are immortal in Fallout games.
Fallout 3 and beyond should speak for themselves.

What are you talking about? Fallout has allowed and even explicitly acknowledged kid-killing.

And they’re immortal in all Fallout games that aren’t 1 and 2.
I was half expecting to see a dead baby goat.

This kid makes Jeoffery Lannister look like a Boy Scout. Just HOW hot will those hot springs be?
A child dying will not increase the ESRB rating beyond Teen. A child being killed by the player will, though.
Having the entire boss battle be against a war machine without ever showing the pilot will solve that.

I’m getting my popcorn ready. Hopefully, no one condemns others for watching such happen.

It’s not murder if he dies in battle as a soldier.
It would be more ethical to murder him now though. Fewer people would die.

A weapon to surpass Metal Gear?!
Somebody better call Raiden, this seems up his alley.
I like where your head is at; kill two annoying birds with one stone.
So, odds that Taro is going to kill those two to test out his new toy?
Well, going to the hot springs and saying you’re “sent by the bratty king” might lead the tenants to show you to the boiler room.
“I mean I gotta give ’em SOMETHING to work with for a climactic boss fight. What’re you expecting, some One Winged Angel? Please.”
Hardly terrified or terrifyingly hard?
Guysguys did no one notice the Bandit tag? Wanna guess which monochrome background figure she is? Or is she… already in the machine?
I mean, she has a knack for killing madmen.
Actually, she’s the figure in the extreme foreground in the last frame… Looking down from the rafters, I guess.
Oh. I guess the lighting in the room was too bright for me to see enough contrast… *cough cough*
Man, whatever flaws March of War might’ve had, Akuma-class was heckin’ awesome.
Oh, I cannot wait for this sociopathic little shitbag’s comeuppance.

Much as I dislike the kid, I gotta admit that “gnomeskulls” is pretty good.
Better than “gnomenuts!”
Taro looks a little jaundiced. Or is it just the light?
He’s always been affected by bitterness, resentment, and envy. It’s what got him this far.
Sounds like SOMEONE is laying the groundwork to become a Raid Boss…
I don’t think I’ve ever thought “I hope that child dies horribly” before.
Did you not read or watch Game of Thrones?
Taro, be more specific. Any pit they put you in is going to be a cockpit.
They still have Friendly’s in Gastonia? It really is a fantasy land!
Many apologies, guildies, but we’re gonna have the next strip post in the evening again.
Khaaaaaaaan!
It’s Kaaaaaaaahn, actually. ;)
I love you guys for apologizing for posting late. Half the webcomics I read can’t post once a week.
We aim to meet the bare minimum of acceptability.
