Both these bodies and those of their Sepia World counterparts are (“were” in the case of the latter) real. From the standpoint of the comic both Sepia World and Arkerra are equally real. And even if it was HR’s technomagic which created the five adventurers out of Sepia world gamers, the previous chapter established that the adventurers have, since their creation, been distinct beings from said gamers. (When HR presented the Five with manifestations of the Sepia folks, their reaction wasn’t “Oh yeah, that’s who we really are all along; we forgot!” as he’d expected, but “Oh come on.”)
From what I seem to recall from pieces of Sepia world.. I don’t think any of the five were really happy. Managing, but Y’anno what they say, being “Alive” isn’t the same way as living. And Honestly I was terrified of Byron and Syr’nj’s relationship being destroyed when they were going to be “Unhooked” but I guess that’s no longer a concern.
I feel bad for the families of the Sepia Five, but maybe this is for the better.
I’m holding on to my theory that Sepia World was actually a shadow of Arkerra. Although, I’m wondering why Arkerra is in sepia now. Also, every theory I’ve had has been wrong.
This is page 5 of the chapter. Even given that the sepia-world denouement ran longer than usual, I really doubt they’d do a chapter break for 5 pages. And that’s ignoring that this would be an oddly abrupt ending for every character save Gravy.
7 chapters ago, it was explicitly stated, by the same character who was explaining its artificial origin, to be a real world.
Also, it’s not sepia. Go back one page. This page is in sepia because it’s a flashback (a common signifier, though one confusing in the context of this comic).
My mistake, only 6 chapters ago. Chapter 44, page 27 onward (not going to try to link, because that never works, for some reason that I’ve never figured out).
This is going to sound like Wish Fulfillment but I don’t quite believe Tectonicus is completely dead. Our little Winter Elf seer-buddy mentioned it- Tectonicus is *Change* so, he couldn’t stay around forever- then he’d be less about change and more about complete bloody bedlam and no one would be happy about that. I have a feeling that if ArkTerra ever needed another Mighty Upheaval, we might be hearing from a Certain Volcano-flamer again.
It’s kind of nice they’re getting a happy ending after all. Well, not their real bodies but still.
Well, depending on how you look at it, these are their real bodies now. Like a wine being poured from one glass into another.

No Bandit :(
my thoughts as well. I think we all know that Bandit is a fan favorite, and I expect her to get a happy ending too. SHE’D BETTER!!!
:D
Others want this toooo.
Frigg’s appetites were tested…that’s a euphemism for she got laid, isn’t it. With Sunder?
So are you saying…Sundar got undar har?
If she got laid by ‘victuals and libations’, she’s kinkier than we knew.
Quickest way to their heart, after all.
I hope the last few pages have been a preamble and this isn’t the final one.
It is the preamble for the final chapter.
The preamble for the final preamble.

Now for the epiclogue.
I really like that word. May I boldly borrow it?
Why not unabashedly steal it instead? You would be displaying more style that way.
Ooops. Sorry my bad. Wrong guy. Sundar’s cigar couldn’t stay in place.
Scipio in mundane clothing just looks weird :D
Me, initially: ‘Scip’s there? I don’t see him…’
Me, after giving the page a close look. ‘… Holy crapcakes.’
What really fucks me up is I never noticed he had such short legs before…
I have a hard time recognizing him without his cigar.
Not even his cigar could stay in place against a belch like that.
Man, this tavern scene makes me think of Braggadocio. Poor Braggadocio. (And poor Rabbit, of course.)
Arkerra is sepia now. I wonder if that means it’s a ‘real’ world now.

So it was Fr’Nj who paid the tab for the party, then. Because she has to do everything single-handedly.
Anyway, E-Merl isn’t tagged.
Thanks!
I applaud your play there and raise you a question in two parts: What is the sound of one hand clapping in the forest, and can anyone hear it?

Wonder what happened to Best’s “lonely grave?”
My guess, sepia body for it
Got not for stupid auto correct
As long as he doesn’t visit Stavromula Beta, he should be fine.
He’s young. He has plenty of time to die and be buried.
That’s everyone’s eventual future. A lovely grave or a crowded one.
Which would you prefer? To be buried alone on a hill, or to be burried in a field with many other corpses?
Benevolent Ganondorf keeps being stoic, I see. And I love how Fr’Nj and Gravy almost mirror each other.
