Thief 5
Y’know, when I originally uploaded these pages to the site, I thought this story seemed like it should have been a page longer, but I figured that was just because we weren’t including the original text lead-in… um.
It’s 2019, I’m at a Starbucks, and I’m just now inserting this page into the reading order where it belongs after skipping over it for eight or nine hours on the site. So I’m a little stuck for flowery commentary here (especially since this is the middle part of the joke; not much I can say that isn’t already on the previous or next page).
All that comes to mind is that it sure is fun to laugh at the land sharks sometimes. They think they’re so smart! Ha! If they had a webcomic, THEY would probably post ALL the pages out of order! Let’s lower the bar, let’s lower the bar!
Is it wrong that this page of the comic actually makes me like landsharks more? I mean, some of them try. Even with their complicated simple smarts they try.
If it’s wrong, I don’t want to be right :-)
This guy has suddenly become my favorite character. A battle of wits with a Land Shark!
Shark: “fair enough”
I would be happy to read a comic about land sharks. No real story, no character development. Just sharks vs. all the guys they want to eat.
Move over Gravy, Byron, Frigg and all the others. Smug Land Shark is my new favourite Character in the Guilded Age universe.
In folk tales, ogres are exactly like this,
Ohhhh ok this makes more sense.
I feel the Savage Races getting more time and development on their attitudes and differences from normal human civilization is a wealth of oportunity. Exploring other cultures, ways of thinking and empathizing/interacting with them is part of human nature. Applying it to hungry, land walking sharks is some of the boundaries that science fiction can make happen!
