TLA Anno 9
FB: Best is feeling a little overwhelmed by receiving this gift after never getting a gift for anyone else ever in his whole life, so Frigg does her best to cancel the gift out by giving him the anti-gift of vicious mockery, reducing his feelings of obligation to do something in return! And doesn’t that make Frigg the most considerate Axemas giver of all?
Byron has never made a big deal out of Best’s focus on appearances, exactly, although that is kind of an undercurrent of their conflict. Byron sees himself as a pro ax-swinger, a simple get-it-done guy, in contrast to Best’s flashiness and “legend.”
But sometimes you have to respect, even assume, other people’s values to get them the best gift you can.
Byron may think of himself that way, but if he is supposed to not care about the looks, then how does he explain the axes-on-my-shoulders thing?
Well he doesn’t put it at the forefront, like Best would. We all fall prey to a little cosmetic item sometimes, even the most practical of them all.
They’re battle trophies. More a proof of an accomplishment then ‘look at my style’, even though they do fit his personal style.
Considering where he got them from, calling them “battle trophies” is pretty dark.
I’m pretty sure the shoulderpads were from Lord Gigundus. I seem to remember him having those fancy axe-blade-pauldrons.
Oh yeah, that’s right.
Frigg is such a jerk, I love it.
Is it +1 armor, or it’s just a Vest of Commanding Stage Presence?
Why not both? +1 Armor, + 2 charisma, -5 on stealth rolls would balance it out.
I just wanna know what freddie mercury asked the winter elves
‘Won’t anybody find me somebody to love?’
“Who wants to live forever?”
“Easy come, easy go; will you let me go?”
