Annotated 25-8
I like that the worg looks as startled as the people within Braggadocio’s earshot, as if Bragga cooked it so quickly that it’s somehow still conscious and not quite sure how it got here. (It’s more of a modified pig than your WoW worg, but we’ve always gone our own way with creature designs.)
This page originally included a bit with Rabbit hitting on Bandit, getting her a golden basin (“I heard you like drools, so I put some drools in this pool,” “…I like JEWELS”). Yeah, remember when I said I would struggle to get Rabbit right after his first appearance?
Some nice adventurer designs here that we never used again: we might’ve considered putting some of our Kickstarter backers in this background, but ultimately felt that they should have more of a debut.
Gavedust always seems interested in stories and E-merl always has plenty to tell.
Why don’t they get along better?
I think they get along pretty alright. E-Merl ended up a bit of an apprentice to Gravedust. I think they were the first “cross-team” connection between the A-Team and the B-Team. Heck they ended up cracking missions together like when they went for those cultists.
True. I guess I always picture Gravedust more or less enduring E-merl’s character more than actually respecting (much less liking) him.
Their relationship goes through a fair bit of evolution. They won’t have another crunchy scene together for a few more chapters, but I’ll talk about it more then.
Not sure I understand why they’re startled? Just because Bragga is loud?
I think they ordered the Fish. ;-))
They’re probably secretly Were-Worgs
My favorite part of this scene is the two people playing chess in the bottom center. My dad and brother were both competitive chess players while I was growing up, attending tournaments and such. And yeah, that’s basically spot on depiction of really intense chess playing, lol. Hands hovering over the clock, the back and forth ‘check check check check’ and all. I chuckle every time. Plus it’s great that it’s Rendar and that librarian guy.
