Even when Gravedust isn’t being intentionally cryptic, it kind of leaks through sometimes. Byron will be puzzling over what that “something” could be until other events distract him.
Very slight hesitation from Bandit as Gravedust makes it clear whom he regards as the real decision-maker for the Peacemakers, despite Bandit’s field-leader status. And he’s right, and she knows that, but… well, she knows that. She knows it.
Not that I hold it against E-Merl, but he stopped listening to Scipio here shortly before Scip opened his mouth.
I notice this page (along with the last two) has a texture overlay on it. The only other time I remember that sort of thing whi the Waltrips working on it was a later point, in the same city, so I guess the things are related.
Tp be fair, Gravedust has no way of knowing what left that trail until Scipio reports back. He’s just being careful to avoid assumptions.
That look between E-Merl and Rachel says it all. I don’t think that moment could have been drawn better.
