FB: Brock cleans while Keynes gleans.
The backstory of Bullshitter (nee Bricklayer) Brock is that he was a con artist, compelled to it the way Commander (nee Carrier, later Bandit) Keynes was compelled to thievery. We couldn’t work too much of that into the script directly, but the little moment in panels 1-2 is a good showcase for his skills. Sadly, the team will be too focused on action after this for those skills to come up again.
Keynes may want to close the books on her old life and start anew, but some things do carry over. If she’d lived as a simple thief all this time, she wouldn’t know how to command a team…and she wouldn’t understand half of the strategic documents she’s looking over now.
….I can’t believe I missed the Commander Keen joke this whole time.
