Joyce has been homeschooled her entire life until now, when she's suddenly a freshman in college! Things don't go well.
Maybe T or Phil have answered this before, but what exactly is Bandit’s accent supposed to be? It’s clear they’re going for a brogue of some flavor or other, but I can’t quite figure out which it’s meant to be closest to.
Yes, I understand that. But I assume that T and Phil have an ACTUAL accent in their head as they write that dialogue, and I was wondering what the equivalent would be.
The Gnomish accent is not always specific, often used haphazardly.
It doesn’t “sound like” an existing accent that I can draw from, though the closest approximation would be “Southern Urbanite.”
The way it shakes out for them is that gnomish language is a lot shorter, more efficient. Their general truncation of Humish is because our language just takes too long to say.
So, basicly, she sounds similiar to someone from ancient rome, (Which means, with latin as their native language) who would have had learned to speak english?
I’m reminded of the clique of players of halflings on an NWN persistent world I used to play on, who would continuously flirt with each other and everyone else and and would insist on talking in a mix of low-grade ersatz Cockney and Japanese teenager slang as understood by anime fans. They were terribly annoying.
OMGOMGOMGOMG yesssssssssssssss I can’t beleive my question got answered! I feel so honored to have contributed something to the comic even if it’s just a sidenote question.
I unfortunately don’t fully understand the 1337ness of the alt text.
What does “SWG LF 1” mean in ‘SWG LF 1 Tru for Derpy Flower Field Running’?
Don’t give up, she didn’t say it would/could never happen (unless you are that guy in panel 4), just that it wasn’t a priority for her (which is, in a way, a sensible act: she is not actively looking but won’t dismiss it if/when it does happen)
In fairness to Creepy McTootherson, Bandit is totes adorbs.
that she is…that she is
“Besides, my YouTube sex talk channel has 900,000 subscribers.”
It’s good to see that Bandit isn’t being childish about these things.
Dont play it short my friend, she is as straight as a stalk and as fresh as a meadow when it comes to these things.
One day someone will backstab bandit for 6d<3 love damage and make her all flatfooted.
Undoubtedly this will also cause her to shift 1d4 squares in the direction opposite the one from which the attack was made.
Not if you crack open volume VIII of The Grappling Rules…

I mentally insert “Alabama Momma” and ignore all inconsistencies as “This is ‘Murica, you get a bit of overlap.”
She’s speaking common, with a central Gastonian slums accent.
The choices of wording and abbreviation in English are simply meant to be an approximate equivalent.

‘Oi who’r yous calling a baka, baka.
You fink you neko enuf? Youz ain’t got da earz!
MOOOOOEEEE da Orkz!
Yanno, that actually sounds terribly … hilarious. In doses, I guess.
I don’t think there will ever be a comic point that tops Derpy Flower Running Bandit.
Is it just me (probably just me) but does the hairstyle of that cutout in the daisies remind anyone else of a certain twiggy sister?
No, it’s just you. It pretty much looks like any other set of pigtails.
Not Bandit with the daisies in her hair, the cutout beside her

Single White Gnome Looking For One.
Now you know, then! But where are the nice countries? I’ve been looking, and can’t seem to find even one!
Oh god that guy is creepy. He is in my nightmares now, especially since I am only a little taller than Bandit……
Your place or mine?
This guy. He’s fast.
Alas, my hopes and dreams, crushed by my crush.

Framly guild anybody?
Gargamel, she’s not a Smurf, and you’re not fooling anyone, with that pathetic combover.
