Typo in panel 3: While Gravedust MIGHT be looking at their souls, I’m pretty sure Syrn’j is looking for a SOLUtion.

I dare Best to play “Four Seasons,” just to mess with her.

Clearly she wanted Best to bust out with some Soul, so she could reflect on how they could soulfully bust out.

Why? After all, Graveydust is the Soul Man. He ain’t the Best musician, but he is the soul option. Best is soul-ly about Rock. Look at his lifeforce outline – he just doesn’t have the guitar in his soul, and that’s what you need for really soulful music. He may not be as good at soul-o performances, but Gravedust is clearly the Best option for this situation. If you reflect on it, you’ll see I’m right, and the rock muso should be left alone (like Communism). Best may end up feeling reaped off, but it’s the soul way.

Five, you said? I see your five, and raise you… however many. I’m not a percussionist – I only need to be able to count to four.

I’m guessing that looking into the mirrors/momentarily not noticing the rest of the group is what triggers you to end up separated. Or looking into the mirrors is otherwise somehow related to the separation. Best isn’t alone because he requires an audience.
That or Syr’nj’s comment was just to keep Best on track.
I’m still wondering what the music is about.

Shuffle is just another type of jazz rhythm and the accompanying dance style. Bad alliterative pun to follow “tan-go crazy”. But now you mention it, there are quite a few shippings that seem to shuffle through the characters to fulfil whatever fan-tasy the fanfic’s author is having that week. Could be a useful term…

Even their soul forms appear as their characters. Perhaps they identify more with the characters and Arkerra than they do the real world now? I’ll also note that many people call eyes the windows to the soul.

Yes, do science to it. It’s why we love you, Syr’nj.

One of us misunderstood the setup, Ishmael. In my understanding, Gravedust is observing the simulated souls (lifeforces) of the characters, inside the setting. Of -course- they would appear as the outlines of Byron, Syr’Nj, Frigg, and Best; (now would be convenient to have the player’s names) the persons in the tubes aren’t subject to the universe that mediates Gravedust’s power.

          Simplicity? NEVER!

Also, I’m not sure if it does work. Second page after being introduced to “The Five” – H.R. Daedalus looks at one of the tubes and says “Still alive, Byron?”, which implies that ‘real’-life Byron should also have been killed by death of MMORPG Byron, which further implies a soul linkage.

Hmm. . That must mean it’s a musical instrument that’s a cut above (or would that be below? I suppose it depends on how hes holding it. . .)

Syr’nj just had to axe him to pick out a slow song. now he wont be playing at his best. Even with a magic guitar, you cant just waltz through some problems. But who knows, maybe they’ll get out of this for a song. ~_^
