If you’re a squishy caster and the tank standing between you and the enemy DOESN’T look bored then it’s time to either bust out your best stuff or run away. Probably both.
Rachel. After seeing her flying up helplessly, I hope she demonstrates why she’s not someone to be taken lightly (assuming she stops panicking in the air).
Still causes mouth cancer, though.
I mean, I like a good cigar now and then myself, but even I know the dangers. Scipio probably just blocks the carcinogens, though. I bet he blocks everything.
If you apply a potion of swiftness to your fists without also increasing the strength or not only your fists, your arms, and your shoulders at LEAST, you’d be punching ridiculously fast and causing yourself massive damage.
Hell, imagine punching a block of wood as fast and as hard as you could. Now imagine that block of wood SWINGING AT YOUR FIST while you do that.
You’d think someone who has such fast hands would be quick on the draw, but it seems like she’s swiftly heading for a fistival of pain.
Aside from the whole “It’s magic” solution (which happens to be the solution they finally applied to The Flash), there are the facts that:
Bandit wields daggers and likes to do hit and run – this’ll let her hit and run on everyone at once.
Our previous experience with this potion shows it’s for swifter running.
Wulf’s comment.
Not really. I mean, unless the enemy’s moving at her that fast, it wouldn’t deal any more damage to your body than just punching something normally. You’re going faster, you’re not hitting any harder and your targets aren’t any tougher.
That said, Karishi’s right. Bandit’s more likely just to hamstring someone or stab them in the backs, not go about beating them with her 1d2 gnome fists.
“Wellp” instead of “well” is sort of like “nope” instead of “no”. While “whelp” is a word, it is not appropriate in context, seeing as it has to do with birthing or the results thereof.
I do love the fact that the totally defended elemental mage is an illusion — just in case.
Last time I saw PAF used as a sound effect, it was Jubilee (there’s even a scene where she tells Wolvie: “I can control my PAFs better now.”). Nice to see it again.
Scipio has the blocks that rocks, E-Merl knocks off someone’s block, Bandit’s gonna shoot up some NOS and LOX and wear out her socks, and Rachelle’s showing everyone her box before she’s dashed on the rocks.
Eh, I feel like complaining about the general lack of scalding/burn wounds in comics where fire-based attacks are present, even when blood seems to flow freely for all other injuries. Have you seen the burns that you can get from just a candle? Perhaps our savage sorcerer there is somewhat protected against fire? Meh… anyhow I felt like raising the issue since I see it often in media. But this comic is great indeed. Loving it ATM.
An illusion of a defended person to do the talking: Always wise. Definitely has more cred than an illusion of a defenseless person, yes? Yesss.
It provided the illusion of defense.
The best defense is not to be hit.
A good mage’s true form should be neither seen nor heard.
An Improved Inviz along with visible Mirror Images works best. :3 Not to mention a good ol’ fashioned Necklace of Strangulation, those are AWESOME. x3
You can always tell a Milford mage.
Are we about to hear her say, “Meep meep”? We can only pray!
I feel she’s opting for the quick solution…
If so, this fight could be short.
I suppose there’s a small chance that she might’ve brought a fleet with her. This IS Bandit.
Will she be shiving into high gear?
Will the invaders be a passing thought to her?
Stay tuned folks!
she will be fleet. . . of foot
Gold Star.
Looks like bandit is about to be a little faster.
Is it just me, or does Scipio look BORED?
He *always* looks bored. That’s one of the cool things about him.
Good tanks always ARE bored. That’s how you know it’s working.
Is that why they are referred to as “sword and bored”?
Only when fighting for the hoard.
And you never know when there might be an emergency, so it’s best to just keep that energy stored.
If you’re a squishy caster and the tank standing between you and the enemy DOESN’T look bored then it’s time to either bust out your best stuff or run away. Probably both.
I was a bad Tank. So I carried ward of Melee and Elements.
Ha! I know what game you tanked in.
I wonder if Rachel brings Ray of Judgment, or if she’s more the Protective Spirit type…?
That is the look of a man that knows exactly when to pop his cooldowns.
So to speak.
No wonder he’s so chilled.
Glad to see Adventurer’s Guild Team Two wasn’t as helpless or screwed as I initially thought.
Yeah. Though I wonder what became of the nun who got taken airborne a few pages earlier.
Rachel. After seeing her flying up helplessly, I hope she demonstrates why she’s not someone to be taken lightly (assuming she stops panicking in the air).
Brace for “flying nun” pun impact in 3, 2, 1 . . .
How about “Drop the nun and place your hands on your head!”, instead?
Rachel: (looking down) “NO! Do Not drop the nun!”
(less the nun shall pass!)
Nah, nun of those’ll fly.
I knew Scipio could carry them on his back, I just wasn’t sure about the rest. :3
Okay, what’s with that lip on Emerl’s face in panel 3? It just looks…wrong.
It’s the “shit just got real” lip configuration.
That thing you think is the upper lip is his teeth.
If your’re gonna ask questions like that, you might as well ask why the shaman has a thumb sticking out of her elbow.
In panel 3 the shaman doesn’t have eyes, yet her staff does.
<— My face while considering this.
Maddening.
I think her staff is making eyes for both of them. I LOL’d at the staff looking all O.O
Are the eyes on the shaman’s staff bugging out in panel 3? Cool.
Scipio sure knows his job, he’s pulling aggro like a boss.
Only a real Boss can fight off two formidable foes while still casually holding a cigar in his teeth. Totally boss.
Oh shit, you mean Scipio is a future boss fight?
Wait, that’s totally predictable.
Block, block, block, smoke, block, block, block, smoke…
It’s a battle of wills. And lungs.
Smoking Kills.
Smoking Kills… YOUR OPPONENTS.
It’s a cigar, you don’t inhale cigar smoke into your lungs
Still causes mouth cancer, though.
I mean, I like a good cigar now and then myself, but even I know the dangers. Scipio probably just blocks the carcinogens, though. I bet he blocks everything.
And here is when I realize the mistake I made within that post. Oh well.
Definitely a better plan than previously expected.
But the bones in her fists would splinter.
If you apply a potion of swiftness to your fists without also increasing the strength or not only your fists, your arms, and your shoulders at LEAST, you’d be punching ridiculously fast and causing yourself massive damage.

Are you assuming that the laws of physics apply to magic again?
She’s not injecting it yet. She’s merely pulling open her shirt and pulling out the hypodermic.
Aside from the whole “It’s magic” solution (which happens to be the solution they finally applied to The Flash), there are the facts that:

I legitimately thought she was injecting that potion into her boob…
FASTER THAN A SPEEDING BOOB!
Congratulations. You win the booby prize.
See, there’s where you fell into her booby trap.
Cheers,
Cote
What’s that Scipio? The bad guys are attacking?
Scipio: *block/knockdown*
Scipio: *block*
GM: “+5 to opponent frustration”
Opponents (in unison): “Aww man! You suck!”
GM: “Make that +10.”
I think there’s a typo in the first panel. Not sure if it’s supposed to be “well” or “whelp”, but “wellp” just looks wrong.
“Wellp” instead of “well” is sort of like “nope” instead of “no”. While “whelp” is a word, it is not appropriate in context, seeing as it has to do with birthing or the results thereof.
I do love the fact that the totally defended elemental mage is an illusion — just in case.
Huh, I’ve never come across that one before. I shall add it to the list.
Bandit’s injecting between her fingers? What a potion junkie.
She’s just pulling the syringe out from where she had it tucked away inside the shirt.
Here, I thought it looked like she was applying it as a topical ointment.
Swift-ness! Apply directly to the forearm!
Bandit and swiftness potion? Dear god…what has she done?
In the immortal words of Guile: Sonic BOOM!
Regardless of what happens next, this will go with it.
and here I was thinking you’d linked to this:
Oh and, “PAF! Right in the kisser!”.
Last time I saw PAF used as a sound effect, it was Jubilee (there’s even a scene where she tells Wolvie: “I can control my PAFs better now.”). Nice to see it again.
Bet that the potion is actually caffeine concentrate.
Go go Team Competent!
Bandit’s going to drive her opponents completely poti
Scipio has the blocks that rocks, E-Merl knocks off someone’s block, Bandit’s gonna shoot up some NOS and LOX and wear out her socks, and Rachelle’s showing everyone her box before she’s dashed on the rocks.
I salute you smartass, I salute you.
Now that’s a rhyme that mocks.
