We just get a charge out of revolting puns. You have negative impulses, regarding the humorous potential of puns. Ion the other hand, find reading puns positively electrifying! Excessive punning can give an ugly jolt, but the shocked reactions can be electro-cute-ing.
Sorry if some of those puns didn’t flow very smoothly. I’ll attempt to rectify the lines, when I’m not so drained.
Trength = Tree + length. One of the four attributes from the arboreal chant: Trength, Trudth, Brange, and Roepth. Grant me tree length, that I might see; trunk width that I might weather the storm. Grant me branch range that I might reach and root depth that I might stand firm. It’s… it’s a druid thing.
My guess is that the rapid growth will kill the tree. It just can’t handle it. I think the roots are going to break up the dirt and heave it out maybe? Gentle and roots just don’t go together in my mind.
Tress have a balance between the above and the below. Leaves gather energy from the sun, roots from the minerals and water. If either side is out of balance in too great a way, the tree will die.
But more to the point, look at the leaf changes in panel 4. Fr’nj is making the trees burn through their energy stores to create deeper roots at an accelerated rate.
This makes it difficult for enemies of the elves to even curse at Griyah correctly, as the spelling and articulation of the different shades are so ambigious.
It also helped the elves maintain nearly unassailable “intellectual property control” over their druidic magicks, as each of the different “shades” of Greiya needs to be correctly invoked depending on the context.
This is a big part of what makes truly mastering the Druid class in Arkerra so hard, but also rewarding. Only the most obstinate druid players ever really acquire the skill of “shade weaving”, but then, they can do crazy things like saving the team from underneath a few tons of rock by using the local flora.
Indeed life is delicious, captain! Also, this might be the best way to short-circuit the whole discussion on who’s magic is effectively-kinda-actually necromancy-ish and who’s isn’t: “aren’t we all necromancers?”
No, we’re all necrovores; devouring life would only make us necromancers if we had a magical bag of holding in our stomach. (I know a few people who might.)

You must be new here.
No fisting? Frigg will be mighty pissed about that.
Oh my, yes, we wouldn’t want Frigg to be pissed about any lack of fisting, would we?
Andreas and Scrunchy – PERFECT AVATARS FOR COMMENTS
I do this every time I post first. What makes it worth doing is that I keep the vernacular fresh, I do not often use words more than once.
Perhaps so, but it doesn’t always come across that way
I know it usually drives me mad too when people do it. But she/he gets points for creativity.
It’s kind of his/her thing at this point, it’s consistent in style, and it’s generally unobnoxious. I’ll allow it.
I kind of like it actually. It’s a refreshing change from how it’s used in other corners of the internet.
All of these and one plus!
Keep doing, don’t let those naysayers get you discouraged! People should learn how to post first the awesome way!
Crazy how the meatbags will give grief to this sort of thing, yet actively encouraged the revolting pun-deluges.

BRAINS
“… if Scipio and I are ever to breed!”
“…I’m trying so hard, my pants I just peed”
“…so Sr’Nj and I can yet celebrate with mead”
(Dang it, if no one will build a train on my comment, I’ll do it myself! So there! PBBBT!)

Life’s precious seed
looks like a typo in panel 3. “Graiya grant me trength…”
Trength is the strength of trees.
I was thinking concussion.
orry for the typo. Fixed.
That’s where the spare ‘s’ went, you had it on an apology. At least you put it back.
There is a typo in your comment about a typo in the comic, TYPO INCEPTION!
Trength?

I grant thee ten points for a perfect ass-pull! *clap*
There is a reason Druids are so OP.
Yes! Go, girl! We’re rootin for ya!
You didn’t dig very deep for that, did you?
Ah well. I can’t fault you for going for the low-hanging fruit.
Puns like these really shiver my timbers.
Wood you just quit it?
She’s got everyone’s back – with lumber support
Shit’s about to get arboreal.
Is that an oak tree?
Yep! If its the same one that Bandit is sitting in. Some form of white oak.
Knew we could rely on a Fr’Nj element.
Gotta love those Fr’nj benefits.
LIKE A DRUID
We will worship like the druids
Drinking strange fermented fluids
Running naked through the wuids
And it’s good enough for me.
hmm, it’s been a few years since i’ve encountered that filk, but i’m sure that verse is new to me.
Interred for the very first time
Seems she’s not ready to bough out just yet.
I don’t get how the trees rooting themselves deeper is going to kill the trees, and (presumably) save our heroes.
What comes to mind is that the roots will gently grasp all of our heroes, and then the tree will shoot out of the earth like a rocket.
…Guess we’ll see.
My guess is that the rapid growth will kill the tree. It just can’t handle it. I think the roots are going to break up the dirt and heave it out maybe? Gentle and roots just don’t go together in my mind.

DROOD!
is anyone else thinking spirit bomb?
Epic druid win :D
Still a typo – Grayia instead of Graiya
I like your smile!
No one minds if I blame T for this one, do they?
I’ll fix it later today.
The elves actually worship 50 different aspects of Greyya, known as “shades”. Each has its own spelling.

It’s firmly in my headcanon now, and it’s all Ahdok’s fault! =P
Bloody OP Druids.
Not bad, Fr’Nj, not bad at all. If this works then you’ve definitely crossed the Badass Threshold. Welcome to the team.
So in order to use magic, druids eat life.
They are all necromancers!
Don’t we all? Eat life I mean. Life is delicious, especially with garlic.
“Dang, Fr’Nj! We’ve been killing ourselves, trying to complete all these quests, and you’ve had root access this whole time?!?!?!”
