That was my first thought when I saw that face! How on earth could simple human artists create something so excellent, so well-crafted? It’s like they got help . . .
This looks like another tease. tommorrow, “Now meanwhile in technicolor world.” Always nice to check in with sepia now and then. I guess that philosophy class was HR’s defining moment kinda like when Jim Morrison saw the fatal car crash with all the dead Indians laying about.
I don’t know. There is a rational explanation that covers all the facts Shanna knows that would explain a sudden conspiracy and hasty cover-up attempts: the experiment in keeping people suspended in large tanks accidentally killed some or all of them. Not sure why that one isn’t logical.
An experiment of that magnitude would have to have legally covered the “Oops, they died,” scenario. There’s no way Hurricane’s legal department would have let such an experiment take place if there wasn’t. Hurricane would take a PR hit in the event of deaths, but wouldn’t necessarily be facing murder trials or whatever.
Essentially, Hurricane is acting more guilty than they legally should be. I think Shanna has noticed that and is wondering what else is going on.
I’m pretty sure that’s her working theory, since she accused Hurricane of multiple killings when she confronted Carol. (Or else that the experiment is a coverup for the killings.) IIRC that was immediately after the first actual killing, but it’s been long enough I’m no longer 100% on the timeline.
“When you have eliminated the impossible, you’ve done the very easiest part of your job. If it takes you longer than five minutes, hang it up. If not, though, then you can start actually working, trying to figure out which of the possibilities is actually the truth.”
Wow, the first actual pictures we’ve ever seen of Frigg and Payett. Payett looks about like expected – but Frigg is considerably more attractive in person. No wonder there’s so many “Ask an Adventurer” questions about her availability…
All of the publicly available data about the Bubble suggests that it would entail the kind of medical equipment and glass that was purchased… Just not for this time period. It seems logical to assume that it is running far too long, but established “as planned”. Not so much murder, though.
So I’m curious: five people vanish after a well-publicized event involving them and nobody else. Why is the only person who notices an investigative journalist and not, say, the FBI? Also why hasn’t she called the FBI?
The event was well publicized, who was taking part in it, how long it would take, or when any of the results would be released to the “gaming public” were not.
He’s not saying it’s aliens but…
…You shouldn’t either.
OF COURSE IT’S NOT ALIENS WHY WOULD IT BE ALIENS
WETHEY DON’T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS!Are they still aliens if they live inside a game world?
Wait, wouldn’t that kind of make them more alien? ooooOOOOOoooo! :D
Well… there IS a race of non-humans living in the sky…
Over a million different subsets to be precise. They have the intelligence of an insect though.
You sure got assigned the right face, haha
Aliens’ butt.
And I think of Station from Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey :-)
glad I wasn’t the only one who saw that
That was my first thought when I saw that face! How on earth could simple human artists create something so excellent, so well-crafted? It’s like they got help . . .
Why does his face/gesture that last panel seem… familar…
Oh, no reason.

CLUE DECRYPTED! Awesome.
BWAHAHAHAH! I totally didn’t catch that! :D
Did that guy stick his tongue into a live light socket? o_O
Last Pannel
“FANTASY!”
“MAGIC”
“DRAMA”
“TACOS”
“WHACKOS”
This looks like another tease. tommorrow, “Now meanwhile in technicolor world.” Always nice to check in with sepia now and then. I guess that philosophy class was HR’s defining moment kinda like when Jim Morrison saw the fatal car crash with all the dead Indians laying about.
Typo: “What’s secret are they protecting” ought be “What’s the secret they are protecting” or “What secret are they protecting”.
the cultists stole her grammar.
She temporarily went Yoda. She was trying to say “They are protecting What’s (he’s 2nd base) secret?”
WHAT SECRET PROTECTING WE ARE?
It could be like “Who’s secret are they protecting?” but it’s not a who, it’s a what.
I don’t know—THIRD BASE…
That would be “whose”, not “who’s”, I think.
You guys…
Fixed.

I’m looking forward to Shanna’s answer to that question.
Yeah, Shanna! Try thinking out of the nose! Er, box.
Me and Betty, we think it’s rays.
Ray told me he didn’t have anything to do with it, doesn’t want to get involved, and to leave him out of it.

Excellent point. You should ask her yourself if she’s considered that. (Ask an Adventurer)
I know she’s on an adventure, but I don’t think that makes her an adventurer…
She answered the last one
I think they have a policy of not answering questions that prove too spoiler-ly or ones that are likely to be answered in the story proper.
It’s probably not “conspiracy” enough for her taste, I guess.

I always thought the bard was a bubbled one!
yes, Best is one of the five.
Didn’t believe that that was that lamer, but that hairswish thing matches the blonde photo from last page :(
Well, she DID get some info from Carol. It just made Carol sound crazy to her, is all.
Set a thief to catch a thief.
its true, the unreasonable options are often the BEST ones;D
Hey, it’s Giorgio Tsoukalos!
I’m not saying it’s magic
…But it’s magic.
“If you have eliminated the possible, then the impossible must be true.”
-Sherlock Holmes
Well… it’s something like that.
“When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.”
Just be careful not to eliminate improbabilities in lieu of impossibilities.
“When you have eliminated the impossible, you’ve done the very easiest part of your job. If it takes you longer than five minutes, hang it up. If not, though, then you can start actually working, trying to figure out which of the possibilities is actually the truth.”

What? You saying The Frigg is not attractive? Foul talk, Feathered Wonder
She acts like she’s never heard of an NDA. Yeesh.
Journalists never respect those.
That stands for “Next Detective Approach,” right?
NDAs don’t generally require you to disappear off the face of the planet altogether. Unless they’re from Disney.
Somebody upload this to bash.org

Pensive Joel is pensive.
After reading some of Faans yesterday, Shanna is beginning to remind me of Kolchak a bit.

Makes you wonder about all the highly publicized games that’ve ended up being vaporware.
Hmm, so their avatars look like their real bodies after all.
