I can’t imagine who else he’d be talking to. Especially since we can see what I assume to be her shadow. But it is a little distressing that there isn’t concrete confirmation.
Thank you! I was wondering if this was a flashback or not, and you helpfully provided the answer. Though, as FoolishOwl noted, the overall cleanliness and neatness is another indicator.
Ehn, I can kinda see it. Those had four buttons across the bottom, but also a pair of Up and Down buttons in the center. I had a Handspring Visor back in the 90s.
Anyone notice how the tank’s top-view on the technical readout elegantly draws an eye in his shadow?
…
I think it elegantly makes the point that everything is all a question of seeing things in the right perspective..
Are we purposefully missing the Carol tag here?

The shadow’s got her nose and hairstyle. Even the dippy little bit in back.
I suspect this is a flashback and the shadow might be real-world Frigg when she signed up for the experiment.
I don’t know, the shadow’s replies would be a lot more insulting if she were Frigg.
I can’t really see real-world Frigg attending Vassar
Yeah, she seems like more of a Wellesley type.
This seems to be a flashback to when this whole thing started, for all we know Carol came in later
Yeah, but unless someone’s there who looks exactly like Carol, it’s probably her.
It’s Carol, all right. This form won’t let me add a link for some reason, but have a look at Chapter 19, Page 3. She went to Vassar.
I thought she did, but I wasn’t sure where to find that.
I’m just happy that the debate over that shadow ties RIGHT into the next couple of comics. :)

HR never got to experiment with perception in college so, naturally, now he’s going overboard.
The doors are opening…
And your avatar picture suggests that they should be closed right back up.
uh
oh
Oh, just get in them already, you two tube – teases!
Can hardly wait to see how he gets his tie to turn color.
Thank you! I was wondering if this was a flashback or not, and you helpfully provided the answer. Though, as FoolishOwl noted, the overall cleanliness and neatness is another indicator.
Schematic, just under the word “tube” looks like a first or second gen PalmPilot.
Ehn, I can kinda see it. Those had four buttons across the bottom, but also a pair of Up and Down buttons in the center. I had a Handspring Visor back in the 90s.
You do realise that that is part of the tubes, don’t you? o_O
No signs of stubble, his tie is tied neatly, and there are no fast-food wrappers in sight, so this must be a flashback.
Didn’t he clean himself up last time we saw him?
I wonder how much testing they had done with the equipment before they did put a human in there for the first time.
They beta-tested it on squirrels first.
… is there some reason you asked this question? HMMMmmmm…
How much testing can be done without putting a human in that kind of technology?
I think, not very much effective testing.
It hurts my eyes! You don’t roll up technical drawings!
Any moment now he is going to fold a crease into one. Don’t do it HR, store them flat.
But he’s also an aspiring wizard, and everyone knows you store scrolls rolled up.
And with his new ideas he’s on a roll.
Scrolls! From the Library at Alexandria!
(Sorry, watched National Treasure the other night…_)
Either from there or the Dead Sea; considering he’s trying to build a world & universe, ya’ know…
H.R.’s stare is starting to wig me out.
That tie! Look at his TIE!
It’s still purple, just hasn’t been washed in a long time.
Anyone notice how the tank’s top-view on the technical readout elegantly draws an eye in his shadow?

Amazing, I used the word “elegantly” twice in the same post. Bad writing, no twinkie !
