Perhaps thinking it is a trap IS the trap. But then that could be a way to trap you into thinking that the trap isn’t actually a trap, which makes it a trap again!!!!
I’m curious if, in the meta, the cultists are npcs or actual players. Because its an obvious horde vs alliance situation we have here, but the introduction of a third faction wanting to spread pure chaos would be enticing for some people.
It is an interesting thought. Going with the Horde v Alliance bit, the Cultists are an obvious parallel to the Twilight Hammer, which to my understanding was one of the big bads in Cataclysm other than Deathwing.
On the one hand, it could be like that, on the other hand, maybe it is like a reversed death knight situation: Instead of startin g as the pawn of the bad guys and becoming one of the heroes, they start as normal players and change their allegiance to the omnicidal third faction.
Why would somebody do that?
counter questions: Why would somebody kill demigorgon in Baldurs Gate? Why would you want to kill Lord British or cast Armageddon in Ultima?
Kill Demogorgan? Well, sending him back to the Abyss, while a “form of freedom,” does negate the risk of him breaking out of the not-infallible Watcher’s Keep and wrecking havoc on the Prime Material.
Please. Everybody knows the only proper way of killing Demogorgon is press-ganging Orcus, Obox-Ob, Malcanthet, and the eladrin into a transplanar invasion of the Gaping Maw… then while he’s distracted, you sail right in there on a tide of whachumacall savagery and handle things mano-a-baboono. It’s how all the cool kids are doing it.
MMORPGs need NPC enemies both factions are implacably opposed to. Do you see anyone other than the cultists who fits that description in Arkerra? I don’t.
It makes sense that if a world can be full of mythical creatures like elves, gnomes, dwarves, trolls, etc. then it can also have these mythical “newspapers” they speak of. It’s all just make-believe, really, but it can still be enjoyable. I hear they could sometimes include collections of illustrations, giving sequential narration to humorous situations. Felines eating baked pasta dishes and other preposterous things.
Probably still recovering from her acute case of Lava Foot. We’ve seen her hobbling about on a crutch, but even for one as Friggnificent as she that does not really make one fit for active duty.
Woo~ I got nothin’. ._.
Definitely should leave a comment then.
Can’t a guy post his empty ramblings in peace?
perfect avatar response :D
Peace? On the internet? Friend, this place is populated by the cultists and their ilk. You’re lucky to leave each night with your sanity intact.
Who says we enter with it intact in the first place?
Any one of them could be a trap… or all of them…
Then again, too much paranoia is paralyzing, and that’s just what the cultists want.
Perhaps thinking it is a trap IS the trap. But then that could be a way to trap you into thinking that the trap isn’t actually a trap, which makes it a trap again!!!!
Panels 2, 4 and 5 are undoubtedly future gravatarae…
Maayyybe…
Perhaps the profile in panel six, as well.
Cult boys, cult boys, watcha gonna do…
“Stick ’em in a hole and poop on you” (‘you’ being ‘them’, couldn’t think of anything else to rhyme with ‘do’)
The absolute best way to fuck up somebody’s day is to intentionally spring their trap just to fucking kill them in their stupid fucking faces.
I take it you don’t like traps?
Killed inside your own face? Woah.

Aaand my gravatar is gone. I knew mocking the Prince of Demons was a bad idea. I hereby humbly apologize to the grim-spirited demiurge…

Nah, mate. Any tech stuff that complicated, it gets lots of bugs. They’re bad code. And guess who will have to sort it out? Yours truly, that’s who.
Or the cultists successfully distracted the peacekeepers for a week with conveniently “leaked” list of places to be.
Of course, we all think we get our news from the interweb, but the actual source of most content IS a newspaper reporter
“I may have to start picking up the newspaper” – could this be a cue for Shanna to enter the Arkerra scene?
It makes sense that if a world can be full of mythical creatures like elves, gnomes, dwarves, trolls, etc. then it can also have these mythical “newspapers” they speak of. While a rolled-up newspaper can deliver sound thumps, Byron, you’re better off sticking with your axes.
A rolled up newspaper is the ultimate anti-Gnoll weapon. They could one-shot Auraugu with a good Sunday edition thwack.
Looking a wee bit too smug there, Byron. Don’t tempt fate like that.
I was hoping for some romantic developments for Bandit, but I guess a fan-backed character like Tobias won’t be in the comic long enough for that.
Wait, when did Byron learn how to read? o_O
Just realized something: where is The Frigg?
Probably still recovering from her acute case of Lava Foot. We’ve seen her hobbling about on a crutch, but even for one as Friggnificent as she that does not really make one fit for active duty.
Okay, so who has been giving the task to ensure she remains in bed? Rachel is at the table, as is E-Gurl and Gravvy
In before Braggadocio is afflicted with the Madness.
Or, maybe Sundar will be afflicted, and Braggadocio will have to stop him.
