I think it just points to the fact that so many have died, others are locked up do to the berserker curse in them. She is leaving and even Gravedust cannot patrol right now. They are just spread really thin at the moment.

However, there is also the business with Gravedust trying to resurrect Byron. He might also be indisposed with that.
