He’s getting dropped not for harboring cultists, but rather, for being too complacent and not noticing the infiltration of his lands by cultists. As lord there, it was his duty to root them out. So I can understand why even Jarvis would want him gone. That, and he was too nice. It made him easy to manipulate. Iwatani probably wants a better tool in that spot for his use. But I am betting if he does get his way, Jarvis will be expecting it, and it might even give him better intel on how to stop Iwatani and the cultists.
So, Gigundus and Anunziata weren’t “pulling their weight”, eh, Iwatani?
Is that a smug implication that they were obese? FAT??
I mean, yeah, they were, but … how callous, how discriminatory, how judgmental!
Now, since you acted that way, it gives me a license to act the same way back to you and still feel justified, you BIG DOUBLE CROSSING OVERWEIGHT DOO-DOO HEAD!
I don’t think there’s a set limit, apart from “until it covers the entire screen”. On the other hand, I don’t think there’s a specified minimum amount of characters that the browser has to display, so it could (and probably should) cut it off before that happens.
So why is Arch-Mage Caneghem there? There are a few members of the House that are missing, likely because they would object to the situation, yet Caneghem is merely observing.
Just to make it clear that this isn’t an anti-non human thing? Or maybe they begrudgingly got him to agree and he is there in case Pardo makes a scene like the admiral did (unlikely, but still.)
They still need him. He’s been largely aloof in the politicking thus far, but knows full well he’s a token member.
Everyone else who dared rock the boat has met with…early retirement. Caneghem is the least outwardly passionate of the disposable members. Iwatani has been using people’s convictions against them, and Caneghem has kept his mouth shut, thus making him harder to eliminate.
I think he’s the one they’re putting on this show for. They’re making an example of Pardo, so the Caneghem will see what happens to those who… do whatever they’re annoyed about, I’m not sure really what the motivation here is.
Sometimes they don’t so much get replaced as having someone already on the council picking up their duties. Three guesses who will control lumber with Pardo gone.
I read the entire ALT text, which meant moving the mouse and re-hovering at least 3 times, waiting for the punch line and when I got to the end of it *I* said “Oh.” “I get it.” I guess I’m just used to snappier ALT text from you guys :p
And let me guess the head of Agriculture is going to take over lumber. And perhaps that’s why Persson and Syr’nj aren’t there since they are the only ones that could reasonably object to that. Well…okay I’m sure there are other reasons Syr’nj isn’t there.
Huh oh… there’s a power play at work here. Poor Pardo, he’s too much of a good guy to be a politician.
Either A) Pardo has been found out to have affiliations with the Cultists or B) Iwatani is pinning his own association with the cultists on Pardo.
Im going with B, probably supplemented with the fact the entire town had been replaced with cultists.

I love the smell of witch hunt in the morning.
…It smells like roasting weenies on a stick…
My guess is that he is, too, dropped for not having a power base anymore.
Do more for your shorter and pointy eared friends? I don’t see how midgets and cosplayers are going to help you.
That’s what she said!
So, Gigundus and Anunziata weren’t “pulling their weight”, eh, Iwatani?

I’m with Pardo. What’s going on here? I feel like I missed an update or two.
At a guess, he’s about to be forcibly retired in favor of a more dynamic house head.
Additionally, his own head might be about to become a lot more dynamic. Aerodynamic, that is.
Et tu, Iwatani?
Jarvis’ look the last comic…he wasn’t giving the ugly eye at Miyamoto, but Pardo!
I still think Jarvis was observing Iwatani in action, letting him set his own noose (maybe not right away, but in the future)
Well, this is taking a really quick turn for the worse.
Quality infographic in the 3rd panel. Reminds me just a bit of the the Hawkeye series that just wrapped.
Epic alt text is epic.
WHAT?
I’m surprised they can put that much into the alt text spot!
I don’t think there’s a set limit, apart from “until it covers the entire screen”. On the other hand, I don’t think there’s a specified minimum amount of characters that the browser has to display, so it could (and probably should) cut it off before that happens.

because who really pays attention to the pointy eared help? they all prolly forgot he was there

Wonder who’s gonna be his replacement. Some undercover cultist? Someone completely unrelated? Whom exactly are they trying to get into council?
Also, the absence of mining minister and the gnome does look suspicious.
Sometimes they don’t so much get replaced as having someone already on the council picking up their duties. Three guesses who will control lumber with Pardo gone.
. . . Iwatani?
Second guess: Iwatani
Third guess: Iwatani
Is that a real question? You can’t tell?
Huh.
I’ll let it surprise you then. But it won’t be a big surprise. This chapter is about him.
So Pardo gets dropped for a new head? I wonder who gonna take his place now.
Heads are rolling, Cultists are roiling, the people are railing and the The Dark is ruling.
One color to rule them all, purple to find them, purple to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them.
Totally voting for ol’ purple-eyes as his replacement.
I read the entire ALT text, which meant moving the mouse and re-hovering at least 3 times, waiting for the punch line and when I got to the end of it *I* said “Oh.” “I get it.” I guess I’m just used to snappier ALT text from you guys :p
I thought it was kind of obvious what it was, just from the first few words, so I wasn’t expecting a punchline at the end.
alt text today is a test. Only true GA fans will get it.
Sorry, ol’ chap, but it’s time to trade you in for a new model. Something with better gas mileage and a bit less empathy for other races.
This is turning into a season of Survivor. Who will be the sole Head of Houses? I hope Syr’nj finds a hidden immunity idol.
So, we see the guards reaching for their swords in the last panel. Is Pardo going to get killed on the spot?
And let me guess the head of Agriculture is going to take over lumber. And perhaps that’s why Persson and Syr’nj aren’t there since they are the only ones that could reasonably object to that. Well…okay I’m sure there are other reasons Syr’nj isn’t there.
Who wants to take bets on HR being the replacement?
Huh, here I thought HR was running for God…
Well whichever office he goes for, he’s got my vote ^__^
Not sure why he would. He’s only just arrived, and outside of the cultists he’s a complete nobody.
During all of this, Canehagm says nothing . . . his eyes in panel 3 do the talking
So the guy they locked in the jail wasn’t a survivor?
