Maaaaaaaaaaaaan the hype for this album was so overblown.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful album, and a flawless love note to the disco era. But everyone was trying SO HARD to make it A Thing because it was the first album we got from those goofballs in how long? Yet everyone stopped giving a shit about this album after it got its grammys, which never ceases to crack me up.
So the album was great. Not really as great as the impact of “Get Lucky” as a single, but it’s a great album. Homework remains king.
I am of the tribe that wishes it truly did usher in a new era of disco… still waiting.
It was sort of disproved before as he did spend some extended times without it on after Frigg in a drunken rage tore it off him.
I think it’s sort of like the whole thing where you keep your biosuit on in a new environment even if it seems safe, you figure it is best not to take a chance if you can.
