      That’s undecided at this point, we don’t know if their bromance Isreal. The Guyza Strip is still contested, so we’ll need a pair of poles for them to dance on to be sure.

    Why is Gravedust crying?

    A. Heartwarming moment
    B. Pain from the berserker-fire
    C. He just realized he left the oven on
    D. A and B
    E. A, B, and C
    F. None of the above
    G. Leave the yuks to the writers of this comic, Alice

    Continuing my theme from Friday:

    Now, through the smoke she calls to me
    To make my way across the flame
    To save the day or maybe melt away
    I guess it’s all the same

    So, I will walk through the fire
    Cause where else can I turn?
    I will walk through the fire
    And let it burn.

      In with the ashes,
      Or up with the smoke from the fire –
      With wings up in heaven;
      Or here, lying in bed,
      Palm of her hand to my head;
      Now, and forever curled,
      in my heart
      And the heart of the world

    Also, this answers the question of exactly why it’s so important for Byron, specifically, to be involved.

    I’m not 100% sure that Gravy’s logic actually tracks, but…at least now we know what it is.

      It resonates with him because he’s clearly a masochist, and enjoys helping others at his own detriment. Gravedust is giving him a chance to be even more self-destructive than he’s already being, and it’s an offer he just can’t pass up.

          It’s a conspiracy!
          Well, maybe not.
          “Alt-Text” is coded to appear for pictures. If you mouse-over a picture, and alt-text is encoded for it, a tooltip appears with the text. Its official purpose is to provide text in case a picture fails to load. Many webcomic makers use this as a way to wedge in extra comedy or commentary.
          It won’t show up on a tablet or smart phone, however; only a computer with a mouse cursor.

            Not just for pictures that fail to load. Alternative Text is useful for assistive devices like screen readers for blind people. And I believe they are used by search engines.

            You can view alt-text on a smartphone or tablet by pressing and holding the image. This will bring up a menu of options and will also include any embedded text.

              As to the why, I think including jokes in the alt text is originally an XKCD thing?

                XKCD is definitely one of the main ones that does it, but “originally” is really tough to pin down, and XKCD was not doing it every comic from the start.

                http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AltText for more examples.

              On my Android phone, pressing and holding the image shows the alt-text… only if the image doesn’t act as a link. So I can see the alt-text for the front page, but the archives? Not so much.
