I like the callback to the first chapter, only with “do […] engineering to it” in place of “do science to it.”

Seems Goblaurence is going to engineer a way to give the plan more IMF.

Syr’Ng: (darn it, he stole my line) you do that, I’ll do the science.
Best: You guys do the sciences, I’ll stick with the liberal arts (music).
Byron: You use your axe for playing, I’ll use mine for hack ‘n slashing.
Frigg: You guys do the @&$ whatever, I’m gonna glowyhammerschitt the #%£&$@ outta it.
Gravy: And I’ll mystically- aw crap. I forgot.

Half dead sky elf? Does that mean Hollister lives or was Clair injured worse than she appears?

If only half is un-dead, it follows logically that the other half must be indeed-dead.

Hollister isn’t tagged above. And Claire was leaning on Best’s shoulder on a previous page. So I suspect it’s the latter.

But I wonder if the injuries Goblaurence is referencing are more spirit/morale based than anything physical. Could also be fatigue too.

Manymany years ago (very nearly fifty, actually) a wise old Chief Boatswain’s Mate was sitting in the barracks, imparting the wisdom of nearly thirty years’ service to a bunch of snotty kids fresh out of boot camp.

The thing i remember the best was when he said {more or less – it was fifty years ago next May} that you don’t have to swing the big hammer with all your strength, but that there’s a limit to hard you can hit with the small one.

In other words, even if your enemy has better speed, subtlety & misdirection in their favor, you can counter it with a reckless enthusiasm for massive firepower.

Speaking of Goblaurence and his airship, I finally saw The Mummy 2 a few weeks ago — and I’m sure I’m not the first person to say this — but gosh darn did the pilot of the airship in that movie look a whole lot like Goblaurence!

Before you drop the ship, be ready to man the lifeboats too. Or everybody climbs up on the lines that secure the ship to the balloon, then those at the lowest point on the lines can cut them away from the ship. Keep in mind that you’re supposed to cut the line *below* you, not above you. Oh yeah, then hang on for dear life because you gonna shoot way up when that extra weight drops…

Everyone, that is, except the Captain…the Captain is *supposed* to go down with the ship.

Pay mind that, even though there is a close relationship between them, Science & Engineering are two different things: Science is a mental discipline to seek out new knowledge of what Nature is doing, whereas Engineering is the application of knowledge to solve a problem.
If Byron weren’t already hooked up with Sy’rnj, I’d be shipping her & Gob so much…That would be a matchup from heaven (or hell, depending on whose side you’re on).

It’s times like these i wonder. What do the other devs or players of the game think is happening right now. Is there a panic breaking out among the developers that some bug caused this?

Maybe some players think this is the dramatic lead-up to the final boss, kind of like how in Skyrim when you trigger the Moon Lord’s arrival, the screen trembles, flashes various colours and so forth for some time before the dude actually shows up.
