no trolls survive anything short of fire or acid, decapitation just slwos them down, they get thre head back and it reataches, so a fire ball is waht is called for here

I beg to differ here. Cutting the head off kills most creatures, and trolls aren’t really an exception to this.

Hmm, not sure if it is used often but I did read certain version of rules in which trolls, even if hacked into multiple pieces will regenerate. Sometimes into more than one troll if given enough time. Then again, those troll were the stereotypical 10 foot tall, green warty dumb as a rock types. While Harki is quite big and intimidating, doesn’t really fit to rest of the profile too well.

and a cooperative party can take out single bosses fairly easy. simply due to the amount of actions per turn they can take, against 1-2 actions for the troll. It’ll be tough, I wager Byron gets injured, but not too horrid Unlike say…fighting against a cooperative party.

Actually…. I’ve been in games where a too-high boss is still wiping the floor with 5+ people. Partly because the dice gods frowned on the paladin(s)… but also because if the guy can knock out your Tanks in a single blow… it doesn’t matter what the rogue and ranger are doing behind him at the same time.

This entire page is just a gigantic “JUST IN CASE YOU WERE STUPID, TROLLS REGENERATE!” billboard sign. I can’t really imagine this guy taking the time to stop attacking to tell Bandit that he’s not crippled. He’s talking to the audience, so much so that it’s kinda painful. Luckily, this is guilded age so I can ignore that and focus on the hilarious dialogue and wonderful art.

I see it as he’s taking the time out of the fight to make it quite clear that he doesn’t really consider them a threat. He’s dashing their hopes of crippling him and gaining any kind of advantage over him.

Or, you know, it could just be a horribly written page, I can’t say, I guess it depends on how you want to look at it.

And a cause for much depression, a source of many a depressed man and women walking around that thin line that separates normal from the mad. Women tend to get used to children. Maybe even get to love them. Man tend to see the brood of others as enemies.

Now, I realize Erica’s leaving must have set the story behind a bit, so I’m not going to have a bitch fit if Byron doesn’t ‘zerk out on the very next page (the last of 2010,) but after they beat Harki and all his friends start pouring into the pit to avenge him seems like a good time for some unstoppable rage.
