The alt text surprised me when Phil brought it up, but there’s probably something significant about Byron getting his start by hanging around with a pair of loving if sometimes squabbly bros like the ones he grew up with.

One of Phil’s original notes: “A protective sibling is… something I’ve always wanted to know. My sister and I, as adults, get along well. But as kids, oh the antagony.” As I had eleven years on my brother, protectiveness came pretty naturally to me, though, so I have an easy time relating to Sundar here.

We didn’t really do much with Sundar and Rendar as a team again until the climax of the series; they’re kind of on opposite ends of the plot for Chapter 23.
