Erica’s Public Finale
In an attempt to both stave off our deadline panic and give Erica a chance to depart on a good note, we let her do whatever she wanted for one final Guilded Age illo as our partner. As you’ll see, this is fairly representative of the last pages she was working on. If we’d had to compress the opening scenes of Chapter 8 into a single frame, it’d probably look like this.
We first met Erica Henderson when she was assisting her father CJ, whom both Phil and I had also befriended. A few enthusiastic games of Scrabble between Erica, Phil, and me would give us the name of our publishing company (Letterbag, LLC). I’m glad I got the chance to work with her, and to see her later successes at Marvel and beyond.
Absolutely stunning. This may be my favourite thing Erica’s ever drawn.
