Guest Comic Annotations – Mike Laidman
No offense intended to anyone else who rewarded our work with the honor of a guest strip or fan art– I was always happy and flattered to get any of them– but I have to be honest with you: this is my personal favorite.
Mike slowly transitions the tone from faux-serious to dry humor to slapstick verging on meta, and yet he nails the Carol-HR dynamic and almost predicts the direction it was set to go in upcoming chapters. And it’s just funny, dammit. Love it.
Mike did Mike’s Stupid Comics for about 12 years. These days, his main gig seems to be the podcast Part Time Nerds, Full Time Dads with Kris Blonski.
This is also my favourite. HR is hilarious in that last panel.
That drink came from Syr’ng’s vat so it probably would have a fruity vegetable taste to it. I imagine Frigg would be salty.
