Guilded Age is now available!

by Phil on October 28, 2011 at 12:03 pm

We want to give a gigantic thank you to everyone who pre-ordered Volume 1 of Guilded Age. More of you came through than we could’ve expected, and we are humbled. But we’ve got all the books now, so pre-orders are off, meaning the free sticker pack is no longer being included in your orders. A bummer, I know, but if you still want a sticker pack they’re only $5 in the store!

We’ve also considered how the support we get from our GAPlus subscribers helped us fund the book, so as a way of giving back to their unintended donations, all Guilded Age Plus subscribers will get a %25 discount to our merch in the store. Keep your eyes peeled on the GAPlus blog and your inboxes, because details are on the way!

And for any of you out there who want to enjoy the same discount our Plussers get, along with now seven chapters full of annotations & art breakdowns, concept art, unused scripts and more… the signup page is thisaway!

We got filked up!

by Phil on October 26, 2011 at 11:11 am

I met the talented and charming Blue of Hello, the Future! at Intervention 2011 and gave her one of our precious few advanced copies of Volume 1 in a cheap bid to get another theme song written about this comic by another awesome musician. Luckily for everyone, it totally worked, and now we have this ditty that absolutely cracks me up every time I hear it. Please enjoy, and thank Blue with me by listening to some of her other songs!

Warrior Writers need your support!

by Phil on October 14, 2011 at 11:06 am

HAWM, Guildies. If you’ll allow me, I have a worthy cause I’d like to pitch to you. Many of us spend our recreational time pretending we are warriors. We slay the dragon, rescue the royal, get the loot. Sometimes we lose sight of how that doesn’t accurately reflect the life of the modern warrior, the soldier. Most of the time, soldiers are restricted from voicing even one smidgen of an opinion or independent thought. Most of the time, returning veterans go unheard, neglected or outright ignored. Regardless of whatever opinions we might have about whatever military conflict we’re involved in, I know one thing is for sure:

I don’t have what it takes to be a soldier.

This is something I’ve come to accept. I’m not one of these brave souls who fight for our country no matter what. Even if they disagree with the administration. Even if they agree whole-heartedly. They’ll fight for me and you no matter the reason, because that’s what kind of amazing people they are. Every vet I see on the street I stand in awe of. And there’s not a lot of ways to thank them that I am aware of other than buying some pithy ribbon.

Well supporting the troops just got 100% more awesome. Warrior Writers is an organization dedicated to publishing anthologies of writing and art created by our veterans. Each year, they go through hundreds of essays, poems, short stories, biographies, photos, drawings, and so much more. They’re up to their third anthology, and just launched a kickstarter to support it. You can contribute for your own copy of the book and other rad rewards. Veteran’s Day this year is on 11/11/11. If you want to celebrate it, this is a great way to do so. Help our soldiers (whose voices are often drowned out in political rhetoric) express themselves. They’ve seen some shit, and this is a wonderful way to take that and cope with it in a positive, meaningful way: through art.

Books are coming!

We almost have them. They are currently residing on our coast, in the general vicinity of T. They will be picked up and shipped out ASAP, this is a promise! UPDATE: WE HAVE THE BOOKS! Thanks to all pre-orderers for being patient (again), and those that have not… you still have a chance to pre-order Guilded Age Volume 1 to get a free sticker pack as a bonus!

Camp Webcomics!

by Phil on October 11, 2011 at 11:01 am

Wowee! I’m sorry this has taken so long to get around to but Webcomics Con was such a good time that I kind of haven’t had a chance to really wrap my head around business as usual since then. But now I will do my best…
