Mass Ado About Nothing

on March 30, 2012

Over the course of a delightfully lazy weekend, I managed to finally wrap up the final chapter in BioWare’s Mass Effect trilogy. Now, because it seems that one can’t so much as utter the words “Mass Effect Three” without inciting torrents of invective aimed squarely at the game’s conclusion, I’ll give the internet collective a moment to finish their grumbling before I begin.

Seeing as this is my very first blog on Guilded Age, I suppose it would be prudent to introduce myself to the Guilded Age community. This is the part where I should explain exactly what I’m trying to achieve with my weekly column, er, thing.

News, news and more news!

ComicMix’s Mix March Madness has started, so it’s time to show the rest of the web who the best damn vaguely videogamey fantasy comic taking place during an industrial revolution is! We are in the Simon division, and are contending head to head with the (top) heavy hitter, Wapsi Square! Vote now for assured victory!

Also, comic friend of Guilded Age, ErfWorld, is in the last hours of its Year of the Dwagon Kickstarter. Give it a few more bucks and they’ll develop a create-your-own-board game browser app. I don’t know about you, but I’m getting in on that as soon as it’s available.

Also also, Another comic friend of Guilded Age, Little Guardians, just concluded its first chapter! Way to go, guys!

And finally, it’s that time of year again… You may remember the previous G-Day, in which we unleashes a slew of new site features and updates in one big special hooplah of a day. March 23rd is coming again, and man… have we got some fun surprises waiting for you, our faithful Guildies. Thanks for reading as always, and please tell your friends all about us!

Auditorium 2: Duet!

on March 2, 2012
Posted In: Blog

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Guildies. Remember our old pals, Cipher Prime? The game studio run by Dain Saint, that dude what wrote our first theme song?

They’re running a kickstarter for their first sequel (to their first game), Auditoium 2: Duet. I can tell you right now, that you want to participate in this fundraiser and get a copy of this game because it’s a real gem. The object of the game is to compose music by directing the flow and direction of particles. A seemingly complex concept on the surface, but once you poke around the game and hear the music, the challenge becomes really rewarding after you complete each stage. The original version of the game is free to play, even!

Participating in this kickstarter will help our friends tremendously, and you’d be getting a great game out of it. Please watch their pitch video, pledge something, and make this thing happen!
