Frigg caves, but she needs to vent her displeasure as she does so, and struggles enough that Best plays a note out of tune.
It blends well with the sand and was obscured by the title on the last page, so I hadn’t remembered on this re-read that Byron, almost as soon as his shoulder-axblade armor was restored, immediately took it back off again.

I guess keeping her word is what makes Frigg a paladin rather than warrior even if her temperament is that of a barbarian.
You know, I’ve never noticed broken note before. Nice use of iconography to symbolize being out of tune.
