Phil came up with this gag fairly late in the process of developing this chapter, but it meshes well with the rest of it. We’ve had enough time by now to forget Frigg’s offer to E-Merl, and looking back in on her gives us a bit of a laff after both the A plot and the B plot ended on downers. I guess there’s an element of sexual humiliation here too, but no one is guilty in this scenario: it’s just Frigg’s bad luck to focus a libidinous interest (and maybe, just maybe, a tiny crush) on a guy who’s too hung up on someone else to be available.
Frigg’s original closing line: “Fuckin’ A. I guess I’m the stupid one for thinking E-Merl was capable of even getting pussy that was literally asking for it.”
And I’d say “If Frigg takes this long to realize she’s been rejected, with her healthy ego, she probably won’t get a complex or anything,” but the next couple chapters will prove me wrong there!

Heh. Even though this is a re-read, I DID manage to forget about this plot in the last 2 weeks.

I hope that rock she’s leaning against is comfortable.
She is going to be sore all over and not in the way she intended!
I mean, she wears plate armor on the regular and plays Tank for a living. Pretty sure she is making the rock uncomfortable.
imho, this gag needed one less panel, the 4th.
A part of me is imagining this ending on a more somber note too, where for once (and with no one around to see it) Frigg gets legitimately bummed out by being rejected, and her character arc takes a completely different direction as she reflects on it.
…Glad that didn’t happen, really!
