Annotated 26-18
One writing tip that I don’t consciously follow as often as I should is to make your comic relief a counterpoint to the main story, a kind of compare-and-contrast exercise. While Rachel is busy rediscovering her purpose, Frigg is wallowing in weakness (certainly as she herself would define it) and is saved by circumstance and chance.
Killing the most important figure in their order isn’t something that would occur to the newer sisters. That kind of contradiction is for the advanced class.
I was very ready to change this aspect of the story if Phil didn’t like it. He signed off on it, but voiced a few concerns about how dick-obsessed Frigg was getting. We decided that was something that needed resolving next chapter, which ended up making that chapter a lot more interesting.
I think the way Frigg presents the whole situation in her Friggness offsets the dickhunger that would be questionable otherwise. She’s just hilarious. And we know she isn’t really a slave to sex, she just is so shameless and crude about everything.
The way it just results in anger instead is great. lol
A woman can love the cock and still be strong. There’s not shame in wanting the occasional deep dicking, especially when Frigg delivers lines like “cobwebs in my box” with such gusto.
Exactly, she’s a total bro, and all of those I’ve known, they really only talk about one or two things. Plus I find it refreshing just how frank she is about all of it, without it being like titillating in any way. She’s not horny so we get a little thrill, she’s horny because Frigg wants what she wants, and she’s a woman of simple pleasures. Not something you see in female characters, particularly ones not built around their sex appeal, all that often.
Frigg: Brienne of Tarth, with a libido.
Brienne had a libido; if your name was Jaime….
I read it as she is eperiencing real panic over dying and her way of copying is by averting the hell away his thoughts from mortality to think about a firmly trivial matter at that point.
Considering Frigg parallels other Tank characters you usually find in games while parodying the usual Paladin archetypes, it fits, the humor works. It funnier that it shows the sisters use Frigg as a symbol with actually knowing anything about her or their leaders.
This page immediately reminds me of Mickey’s lament in “Air Pirates Funnies”:

(Honestly, I’m a bit disappointed this was not the image to accompany the annotations!)
I had heard of this one, but never actually seen it!
“Impossipussy” is a pretty choice insult for Rachel … as is calling Frigg a salad.
In Frigg’s rant, who is Tubsy-Wubsy? Gravedust?
I think that would be Scipio. With Fr’Nj being the salad.
Ah. Don’t know why that one escaped me.
Got-damn, though?
