Annotated 35-25
Hammerhead’s move in the frame before this page confused some readers: they thought he might be rescuing Frigg from a genuine threat, “rescuing” her from a perceived threat, or picking her up and propelling her into the Beast with his muscle the way Magda did with her stone. In all these theories, he’d be working in support of the Champeacemakers’ combined efforts. But no.
Indeed, I’m not sure how much of the anger Hammerhead aims at Frigg here is just his brand of berserk and how much of it is outrage at this whole damned world where alliances shift and yesterday’s enemy becomes today’s tentative ally. “I have explained that rocks are not food, but no one listens.” NO ONE LISTENS NO ONE LISTENS HUUUUUARRRRGH
Flo beefed up the dialogue a little bit in the lettering phase, a practice frequent enough for her at this point that I rarely feel obliged to mention it. Some tweaks delighted me, others irritated me, but now that I’m sharpening my pen nib to get back in the game on my own, I’m gearing up to make those last-minute tweaks part of the process.
That memo went right into his Friggin’ spam folder
I kinda wonder why he picked Frigg rather than the Beast. Was he scared of the Beast and yet had to attack something?
Deal with the enemies you think you can beat quickly first? He sees that Frigg is not paying attention to him, so he seizes the opportunity while it lasts.
